Good morning, ye bilge rats! Today’s prompt for the Pirate challenge be “Gold/Treasure” and I have a sparkly glitter room full of it to show ye!
I’ve started off with 1 coat of OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby, topped by 2 coats of OPI Goldeneye. Goldeneye is quite sheer on its own, so I needed to layer it.
I then added a coat of YouPolish I’m Worth It, and then on top of that I added loose gold glitter. If you stuck your head in a room full of treasure, what would your eye see? A lot of gold, glittering and splendid. So that’s the direction I was going for today!
Why don’t ye check out the rest of these mangy curs’ manicures?
I’d love to know what you think about this manicure, so holla at me in the comments! 🙂

Happy Friday morning everyone! I get all discombobulated when it’s a short week because of a holiday (like Monday’s Labor Day for those of us in the USA); I always think it’s a day it isn’t! LOL. Recently I had the opportunity to try out some nail decals/stickers/stencils from YouPolish, and I have a review for you today!
Good morning everyone! I cannot believe that today marks one year since my first manicure post. It was Sinful Colors Sugar Sugar – and what a manicure it was! ROFL. I can’t believe how much better I’ve gotten not just at doing my nails, but doing nail art and expressing myself. I’m also just short of 400 posts in this year – phew!
I also can’t let this celebration be marked without giving a huge shout-out to some awesome ladies that I’ve met through blogging: Dani at From Polish with Love, Hannah at The Dalai Lama’s Nails, Cynthia at Of Life and Lacquer, Kirby at The Mercurial Magpie, Steph at Imperfectly Painted, Lacey at My Boyfriend Hates Makeup, Autumn at AuttyW, Lisa at The Polish Playground, The Sparkle Queen, and honestly, so many more lovely people that I’ve met through this blog. Not to mention the talented people who make nail polishes whom I’ve had the real pleasure to meet through this blog. I really do appreciate everyone that comments here on the blog, or on instagram, or elsewhere. I sometimes can’t believe that people actually come to read and see what I’ve created or swatched!
To help me celebrate, four amazing makers that I’ve worked with over the year have each sponsored a prize. Click through after the giveaway graphic to learn more!

Good morning all! This is a post I’ve been working on for some time, and I’m excited to finally be able to share all these pretties with you! I reached out to a lot of different independent polish makers to see if they were making their own version of Radiant Orchid, Pantone’s Color of the Year. I’ve had a great response! (Some of these were provided to me as a press sample, and some I have purchased with my own money.) Hit after the collage for all the lovelies!
Happy Sunday morning to you out there! 🙂 I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far. Last night I had the chance to catch up with girlfriends for dinner and nails and it was soooo lovely! I really treasure the times we get together, it’s so relaxing for everyone.
Today is the second week for FingerFood’s Theme Buffet, a weekly challenge; this prompt is geometric shapes. I confess, I’m terrible at this, and I feel like today is another geometric fail for me!
I’ve started out with 3 thin coats of YouPolish Neither Here – a polish I’ve had but not used since summer! This polish has a great blue base with pink, white, and black glitters of various shapes; it also has black and white bar glitters (which usually I hate but I think here they work). I’ve used Glitter Food to smooth out the glitters, then topped with Color Club 0-60 topcoat.
Then I used Sinful Colors Cream Pink and Snow Me White to create conical shapes in rows. Well, I tried to create conical shapes.
It’s not quite what I was going for, and I’m not too terribly happy with how it came out. LOL! Well, everyone has to have a nail fail sometime, right? Let’s see everyone else’s mani, I’ll bet they were way better than mine!
I hope you have a great rest of the weekend, and I’ll see you later!
Good morning everyone! I hope you are ready for the day! Can you believe it is only 2 weeks away from Christmas Day? Ahh! Crazy time! I have cleaned my house from one end to the other so at least I’m prepared for any unexpected company.
So not to add to any stress, but how about some holiday decorations on my nails? I knew what I wanted to do – Christmas stockings – but it took me forever to decide on a background for them. I (finally!) decided to use Pahlish Slow Like Honey and YouPolish I’m Worth It (glitter).
Isn’t this just the bees knees?! 😛 I really really liked this, I was almost loathe to cover it up with nail art. But, since I was trying to complete these challenge nails, I knew I had to keep going. I then used FingerPaints Red-Brandt for the stockings, Wet n Wild A Blank Canvas for the white top, and Red-Brandt and Sinful Colors Black on Black together for shading. Lastly, I used A Blank Canvas to put my family’s initials on each stocking.
I love that Red-Brandt makes the stockings look almost velvet-y. I know you want some more decoration ideas (haha!) so click the blue frog below:
Since today’s nails were all about the decorations, what decorations do you put up around this time of year? Do you have a set theme or just put up whatever’s around? I’d love for you to let me know in the comments! Until later,
