Happy Sunday morning to you readers! If you follow me on snapchat (bhappybuypolish) or instagram stories (behappybuypolish), you’ll have seen that I picked up quite a few new (and new-to-me) Wet N Wild products, including: MegaCushion Highlight Who’s That Pearl, MegaCushion Contour Cafe Au Slay!, MegaCushion soft matte lip cream Melon It Like It Is, Lash Renegade mascara, MegaSlim Skinny Tip Eyeliner, plus the Au Naturel eyeshadow palette in Bare Necessities. Phew! Let’s take a look at these products before I show you the makeup look I created with them. Continue reading
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you aren’t too tuckered out from celebrations last night. 😉 Today I thought I’d show you another makeup look with Wet N Wild, this time using the limited edition Plaid to the Bone eyeshadow palette and Liquid Catsuit in Rebel Rose. (Have you checked out last week’s makeup look with the Velour Vixen eyeshadow palette?)
Plaid to the Bone has three eyeshadows in this palette for brow bone (top), crease (middle), and eyelid (bottom).
The brow bone color is a buttery gold color, it does have quite a bit of fall out. The crease color is a dry navy blue, it does not blend very easily. The eyelid color is a brown-red base with teal shimmer, it applies very nicely. Continue reading
Happy Saturday to you! I thought that I’d show you this makeup look in case you need something dramatic for Christmas Eve Or New Year’s Eve shenanigans. 😉 I used a limited edition palette from Wet N Wild called Velour Vixen to create this look along with Wet N Wild Liquid Catsuit Video Vixen.
Velour Vixen has three eyeshadows: for brow bone, crease, and eyelid.
The brow bone color is a nice warm cream color. It is a bit powdery. The crease is a slightly shimmery red color, that blends nicely. The eyelid is a black with red sparkle color; the sparkle is not too apparent on the lid, though I caught glimpses of it. Continue reading
Hey everyone! I was going to have this post up earlier today but alas, laundry had to get done, and yard work (last nice day for awhile), and other nail polishes swatches. Sigh. But now that I have a moment to myself, I wanted to show you my makeup look from last week. I wish I would have taken a picture of my hair – it’s becoming one of my favorite “fancy” dos – an upside down Dutch braid into a braided bun.
For my lips, I blended together Bite Beauty in Beetroot with NARS Cruella.
I used Teeez Cosmetics eyeshadow in Sweet Sins on my lid up to my crease, then used a gold & pink shadow from Wet N Wild Fergie Centerstage eyeshadow palette Milano Collections.
Sweet Sins has a really pretty duochrome look to it that’s so hard to capture on camera!
I love doing my makeup and sharing my looks with you – it really is something that’s soothing to me, much like doing my nails. I hope you like to see different looks too! I just received (as a gift) some Kat Von D Studded X lip & nail duos and I hope to share those with you next weekend. They are so gorgeous! Here’s a teaser pic from instagram:
Until the next time!
Lava Brew is a pink orange base with orange glass flecks. (Which, btw, got EVERYWHERE when I removed this polish!)
I found this to be really sheer – more sheer than I was expecting. This is 3 thin coats and no top coat.
I decided to try this over black and it was really pretty! This is 1 coat over Wet N Wild Black Creme (2 coats).
When was the last time you found a decent polish at a good price?
Hi everyone! I recently pulled out about 50 untried mainstream brand polishes, and combining that with my current stack of untried indie polishes, I have about 110 untried polishes. I decided to start a new series – Pick Three Polishes – in which I’d randomly pick three polishes, swatch each one, and then create nail art with the three. For the inaugural post I have Fancy Gloss Dark Chocolate (holo), Emily de Molly Cracks in the Walls, and Wet N Wild Ferguson Crest Syrah.
Fancy Gloss Dark Chocolate (holo) is pretty much exactly what the name says: a dark chocolate holo nail polish. LOL 😀 Formula was smooth and great. Almost a OCW *one coat wonder*, but I used 2 coats plus top coat.
Hi all! My apologies for the sporadic posting lately, I’ve been in a funk and I’m trying to pull myself out of it. I did pick up the Wet N Wild Spring Into the Wild nail polishes the other day. I don’t technically count this as breaking my no-buy because after swatching them, I gifted them all to my friend Nichole over at Bedlam Beauty. 🙂 At the end of this post, I’ll be comparing these to 4 of the polishes from last year’s Wet N Wild Silver Lake collection [previously swatched].
First is Love Fest, a saturated baby pink creme. This is 2 coats and no top coat. It self-leveled beautifully!
Next is Kiss My Mints, a blue-toned minty creme. This is 2 coats and no top coat, and it also self-leveled nicely.
Breeze on By is next, a sky blue creme. This is 2 coats and no top coat, and also mostly self-leveled (you can see my index finger was having none of that).
Last is Lay Out in Lavender, a greyed out warm lilac creme. This is 2 coats and no top coat. It didn’t have the best formula.
Love Fest compared to last year’s Stream of Consciousness (3 coats). No dupes here, SoC is much more sheer and has shimmer in it. Love Fest is my pick.
Kiss My Mints compared to last year’s Tree Hugger (2 coats) compared to last year’s summer Green Tease (2 coats). Kiss My Mints is so blue-toned! Tree Hugger and Green Tease are practically dupes. Kiss My Mints and Tree Hugger are my picks.
Breeze on By compared to last year’s Wear Skinny Jeans (2 coats). This is a close one but Wear Skinny Jeans has invisible shimmer compared to BoB being a flat creme. Formula is better on Breeze on By, so that’s my pick.
Lay Out in Lavender compared to last year’s Reject the Mainstream (2 coats). RtM is warmer than LOiL and also has the better formula, so stick with it.
I hope this post was helpful for you, please share it if it was! For those of you who follow me on snapchat (username bhappybuypolish), you were able to see this almost live. I’ll be doing more of these kind of comparisons (almost) live on my snapchat, so be sure to join me there.
