Turtle Tootsie Polishes Bolide [April 2018 Polish Pickup Pack], 3 coats. Good formula, if a little sheer at the tips.
Sinful Colors 2284 White on Time
ILNP Sweet Pea
L.A. Colors 53 Road Trip
Blackheart Beauty Pink Pearls
China Glaze Flirty Femininity, 3 coats. This is so sheer and runny and stinks to high heaven. 😛
Dreamland Lacquer Ooh Shiny!
KBShimmer Oh Matte!
Current mani here! I’ve been wanting to use Bolide from Turtle Tootsie Polishes since I bought it but everything I tried just didn’t click. I finally forced myself to sit down with it and come up with other complementary colors and a technique. And yes, I know you’ve seen a similar technique earlier this week. This technique was one I saw from yagala on instagram.
I love how the fluid nail art really looks like swirled candy or chocolate or even coffee. I started off with a shiny top coat and though I liked it, I really wanted to try it with a matte top coat.
Turtle Tootsie Polishes February
Alchemy Lacquers Sweet Violet
Polish ‘M Shamrock [previously seen in my St. Patrick’s Day manicure]
KBShimmer Bling Out Loud
Formula X Mind Over Matter matte top coat
Afternoon everyone! Quick little post while the little ones sleep. 😀 I created this mani last night – I was trying to do something interesting with these four and Sinful Colors Transforming Top Coat in Concrete Jungle but couldn’t make something work. Oh well! I rather thought this turned out like abstract flowers or something. If you’re interested in this technique, I did it similar to this tutorial from Yagala (pedicure warning!).
Turtle Tootsie Polishes Pink Velvet [February Polish Pickup Pack], 2 coats plus top coat. Polish might be thick for some but it’s perfect for me, as I like polish a bit thicker. I think I could have done with doing one more coat to even things out but it still looks great!

I am so so glad I picked up this polish from February’s offerings at Polish Pickup. And I’ve got my eye on April’s offering from Turtle Tootsie because it’s a gorgeous looking magnetic polish! This is my current mani and it turned out really nicely. I was inspired by this mani by nailsbymlh. Pink Velvet is a fairly reactive thermal polish as well and I love both states! It’s a whitened pink when warm and a brighter pink when cold.
Polish ‘M Danvers (2 coats no top coat) as a base; this is a thermal polish (clear pink to coral when dark)
Turtle Tootsie Polishes Just Around the Bend smooshed on top
Morning all! This morning I have a fun thermal manicure to show you with Polish ‘M Trans-Allegheny and Turtle Tootsie Polishes Frankenstein’s Mask.
Trans-Allegheny is a light purple that shifts to a blurple to a deeper purple, with iridescent micro flakes. (Psst, it’s sold out as an individual, but you can still buy the 4-piece Halloween collection from Polish ‘M!) It looks like it dries textured but it doesn’t. It has a smooth application. This is 2 coats plus top coat.
I decided to pair it with Frankenstein’s Mask [press sample]. Here’s a reminder of what that looks like! (Psst, this is still available as an individual listing at Turtle Tootsie Polishes!)
Happy Wednesday to you all! I hope you’re having a good week so far. It’s definitely turned to fall here in Montana and I’m on the hunt for some sweaters but I’m kind of incredulous that sweaters are so freaking expensive! $30 for a regular sweater? Pshht. I’m over here like…Where are the $10 sweaters?? Anyway, speaking of fall – I have a Halloween nail polish trio from Turtle Tootsie Polishes that is now available – including an incredible thermal polish. 🙂 Read on for details about Ghastly Ghoul, Frankenstein’s Mask, and Fright Night. Morning all! I hope that if you’re having a heat wave like we are in Montana, you’re staying cool! I am sweltering and not staying cool because my 6month old is on a nursing streak and he’s sweaty – which makes me sweaty and him more sweaty. Ugh. It’s a sweaty mess. How about a mani that isn’t a mess….or maybe it is? I dunno. At first I didn’t really like it but then it grew on me. Let me know at the end what you think.
So I started off with OPI You’re So Vain-illa on my ring and pointer fingers. On my pointer finger, I used a giraffe print (maybe it’s a cheetah print?) decal and used Painted Polish Gray Goddess, then outlining with China Glaze Liquid Leather. I added some gems from Crystal Parade in the corner – didn’t really like how it turned out though. Continue reading
