It’s Wednesday, my lovelies, and I’m starting a new feature on the blog called “ReSwatch Wednesday”. I’m going to be going through and re-swatching polishes that I haven’t worn in years! I hope you like this feature as much as I like re-visiting older polishes.
For the first installment, I thought I’d go with Shimmer Polish Lorene and Karen. I received these as press samples for my Radiant Orchid nail polish series.
Shimmer Polish Lorene is a raspberry jelly base nail polish with tiny square glitters of blue, pink, turquoise, orange, yellow, and hexes of gold, plus even more stuffed in there!
This is 3 thin coats with top coat, and still as amazing as the first time I tried it out.
Shimmer Polish Karen is a clear base nail polish with glitters of pink, plum, silver, blue, and more in various sizes.
This is 3 thin coats with top coat. Last time I layered this over another polish, but this time I really wanted to see it on its own.
I don’t believe either of these are available for purchase any more, but I have seen Shimmer Polish in secondhand sales. Keep up with Shimmer Polish on Facebook for more information. 🙂
I’d love to know which polish you prefer out of these two!
Good morning all! This is a post I’ve been working on for some time, and I’m excited to finally be able to share all these pretties with you! I reached out to a lot of different independent polish makers to see if they were making their own version of Radiant Orchid, Pantone’s Color of the Year. I’ve had a great response! (Some of these were provided to me as a press sample, and some I have purchased with my own money.) Hit after the collage for all the lovelies!
Good evening everyone! I don’t normally do evening posts, but laundry desperately needed to be done, so posting was put on the back burner. 🙂
I finally figured out something for this week’s theme of Sparkle! For my base, I’ve used Revlon Bare Bones (1 thin coat, 1 thick coat). Holy thin formula Batman! I think I will still like this for undies for other manicures, though.
Then I used Nail Vinyl’s chevrons, which I cut in half then placed at a slant on my nails, then used Shimmer Lorene over the top of that. Lorene was sent to me with another polish for my all-indie Radiant Orchid post. It is an absolutely gorgeous pink/red base polish with so many multi-colored glitters that you don’t think are going to work, but then it’s on your nail and you sigh because it’s perfection. 🙂
First, here it is with Nail Pattern Boldness’ Glitter Food on top:
And now with Color Club 0-60 fast dry top coat:
A friend’s husband remarked that it looks a little like a robot person. haha! I don’t know what they are, but I like them! Let’s take a peek at the rest of the sparkly manis by clicking the blue frog below:
You can purchase Lorene at Shimmer’s etsy shop for $12. I’d love to know what you think of my mani! Until tomorrow,
