Good morning, outstanding readers! I hope you are well. Last night I got together with friends and I have to tell you…it was so good for my soul. Don’t you just love that?
Today I have a review for you of Seche Vite top coat and nail polish via Live Love Polish. Live Love Polish is a new-to-me retailer of popular nail polish brands, focusing on cruelty-free brands like China Glaze, Model’s Own, and LVX.
They were kind enough to send me a bottle of the famous Seche Vite Dry Fast top coat and Seche Vite Smokey. I have used Seche Vite in the past, but not probably for a year, so I was excited to re-visit what is a huge fan favorite.
I knew that Seche Vite made nail polish, but I’ve never had the chance to try any out myself, so I was very curious to see how their brand performs. Smokey is a wonderful gunmetal gray color with a lovely bit o’shimmer. It is a bit thin of a formula though, it kept trying to pool in my cuticles.
To test out the top coat, I decided to try out some nail vinyls with Smokey and Sinful Colors Silver Solution. It was about 15 minutes from when I painted the second coat of Smokey, then applying Seche Vite Dry Fast top coat, to when I laid down the vinyls and applied Silver Solution over the top. I didn’t have any lift or smudging whatsoever, but I know when the polish is thicker (or you have more coats), it does take a bit more time for the top coat to dry enough for vinyls or striping tape.
These polishes can be purchased at Live Love Polish, and they do ship internationally!

After yesterday’s post, I went with the green minty goodness. I’m so glad I did, because I love how this looks!
This is after two coats of Sally Hansen’s Mint Sorbet:
This is flashing a bit cooler than it is in real life. It is much warmer.
This is with a thick-ish coat of I Love Nail Polish’s Up to Snow Good, and two coats Seche Vite. Up to Snow Good is absolutely so pretty – it is a clear base with very small holographic glitters, small white circle glitters, hexagonal white and green/iridescent glitters, white and dark green square glitters, and white shredded glitters. I used one thick-ish coat, but I think I should have used two very thin coats, followed by a coat of Glitter Food and then Seche Vite. But as I did this last night before bed, I wanted to make sure it dried.
This combo looks so pretty and springy on my nails, I can’t stop looking at them!
Here’s a sneak peek of a giveaway I will be doing starting next week to kick off the new blog. Tell your friends!
Here’s what I’m working with today: essie grow strong base coat, essie beyond cozy, LA Splash Aqua Fusion, Seche Vite top coat, and scotch tape.
I first applied two coats of essie grow strong base coat, before moving on to LA Splash Aqua Fusion. I just received this in April’s Lip Factory box, and I love the color in the bottle – there’s a purple sheen to it in the bottle, but it doesn’t translate onto the nail. I still like the color though, it is a pretty robin’s egg blue, perhaps a bit dusty undertone though. It was *hard* to work with though! It’s a little gloopy, so even with going as thin as I could, I didn’t dare go more than two coats, even though there were visible brush strokes. I think I need to thin this one out. I topped it with Seche Vite, since I wanted to add Beyond Cozy on the top of it.
I’ve been wanting to try a half-moon mani, and I just received essie’s beyond cozy, so I decided to use that. I used scotch tape and my cuticle scissors (the only thing they’re good for, in my opinion!), and one of the nails off a color-wheel to cut around for a uniform look. My half-moons didn’t turn out very uniformly though, but it still looks pretty good. Beyond Cozy is so silvery and sparkly in person, but I couldn’t really get a good picture of it. It looks much more muted in the picture than it is in real life.
I then topped off with another coat of Seche Vite, and cleaned up:
So that’s what is on my nails today! What do you have on your nails?
