Well, how was everyone’s Valentine’s day? Do you celebrate and whoop it up or do you ignore completely? To be honest, if my husband and I didn’t have kids we would probably ignore it completely since our anniversary is at the beginning of this month. Slightly related (not really), I have Pretty & Polished Valentino and Not Enough Claritin in the World to show you today.
Pretty & Polished Valentino [gift from maker] is a clear based black and white glitter topper. I found this to be a little base heavy but application was smooth. This is 1 coat plus top coat over Morgan Taylor Beach Babe.
Pretty & Polished Not Enough Claritin in the World is a white based crelly polish with neon glitters of yellow, pink, orange, blue, green. The base is a bit watery so application was sheer. I got a good amount of glitters out on the brush but it was almost hard to get enough base out because of the glitters. It also clumped up on the nail but that is probably partially my fault for not letting each coat dry well enough. This is 3 coats plus top coat.
Even though application was tricky, I still like NECITW because of how pretty it is! What are your thoughts?
So I had a post all ready for today, typed up and everything. And then somehow, it disappeared. No trace of it except that I had uploaded the pictures. Since I was starting over anyway, I decided to replace the post with this mani that I wore a couple of weeks ago with Pahlish Just Like the Setting Sun and Pretty & Polished Smoke & Mirrors.
So last week I showed you a smoosh nail art manicure in which I used a whole bunch of polishes, including two that I used in this beachy manicure: China Glaze Rodeo Fanatic and Dreamland Lacquer A Wedding Dress That Isn’t Bright Turquoise. I also used Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Homeward Sound and Pretty & Polished Sand in My Crack for today’s manicure.
I started off with Rodeo Fanatic on my middle, ring, and pinky fingers. It’s got a lovely shiftiness going on that is to die for! Formula was a little thin, and can be draggy – make sure you let each coat dry. This is 3 coats and no top coat. Continue reading
This manicure was one of those, “I’ll start with these polishes and see where I end up” manis. 😛 Which are actually fun to do because sometimes they really work out and you love them (and yes, sometimes they don’t work out). I first started off with Vapid Lacquer Round ‘N’ Round and Girly Bits Cosmetics Terra [Hella Holo Customs nail polish].
I started off with Vapid Lacquer Round ‘N’ Round [gift] on my pointer and pinky fingers. This is a pink-purple with beautiful copper shimmer. No complaints on formula or application. This is 3 coats plus top coat.
Good morning my wonderful readers! Today I have a mani where I kind of just went with the flow with no real plan in mind and ended up in a good place! Read on for more details about this manicure with Pretty & Polished Barnwood Builder and Top Shelf Lacquer Fireball.
I started with 3 coats plus top coat of Pretty & Polished Barnwood Builder. This is a thermal polish, but tbh, I didn’t even try to capture the thermal this time around. Limited time, kids wanted attention, blah blah blah. You can see a bit of change at the tips. Anyway! Formula was a bit uneven but not bad. It was more green-gray than I expected though.
I then used kitty cat stencils from KBShimmer with Top Shelf Lacquer Fireball [March 2016 Hella Holo Customs exclusive] and quatrefoil stencils from uhhh gosh, I don’t remember where I bought them from. LOL!
Lastly, I stuck a kitty cat nail charm from Daily Charme on my middle finger.
Even though those quatrefoil stencils didn’t really turn out right, I really liked the sassiness of this manicure. What do you think?
I was feeling super meh about doing my nails one week and decided to google “striped nail art designs” when this manicure by Paulina’s Passions popped up. I wanted to do something similar and here’s what I came up with using Pretty & Polished Weather the Storm, Polish ‘M Festival of Fall, and KBShimmer Poppy Kisses.
I started off with Weather the Storm on all fingers except my thumb and ring finger. This is a stormy grey-blue dusty creme. Good formula, though I needed 3 coats for evenness. This is 3 coats plus top coat.
On my thumb and ring finger, I used Festival of Fall. This is a “teal leaning dark blue base with blue/green/gold duochrome shimmer, galaxy holo, magenta holo shreds and multi-iridescent flakies“. This is 3 coats plus top coat.
Let me tell you, I feel like I should have just stopped here. But did I? Nope. 😛
Then I used striping tape and KBShimmer Poppy Kisses to create the rest of the manicure.
Maybe it was the fact that I was dreading doing all that work on my opposite hand, but this mani didn’t last much longer after taking the photos! But I’d love to know what you think of it! 🙂
Gosh, I gotta tell you, this is one of my absolute favorite fall manicures that I’ve created lately. Let’s just jump right in, okay?
On my pointer and middle fingers, I used 3 coats plus top coat of OPI What’s the Hatter With You? This is a stainer, but dayum is it ever glorious!
On my I used 2 coats plus top coat of Pretty & Polished Creme de la Creme. Formula on this is a little uneven but it could have been my base coat. I actually did do a swatch of this later on:
It really is a lovely palette cleanser of a polish!
Over Creme de la Creme, I used Celestial Cosmetics Dragon Wings, a Hella Holo Customs polish. This is such a pretty shifty polish!
This just screamed fall and cozy to me, perfect for this fall loving gal. What kind of manis do you like to create in the fall?
