Happy Easter all – that is, if you celebrate it! If not, Happy Sunday! 😀 I hope you all have had a relaxing weekend – to be honest, it’s been crazy here. But I really quickly want to show you my manicure today with Parrot Polish Blue Macaw, China Glaze Bite Me, KBShimmer Salt Water Sassy, and CrowsToes Nail Color Sweet as Sugar…Cold As Ice. I’ve also used nail gems from Crystal Parade.
I started with 2 coats of Blue Macaw on my fingers. Formula is a bit thin, and it does dry a bit brush-strokey. Continue reading
Morning everyone! I hope you had a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day weekend. 🙂 Today I have a manicure using Zoya Zooey and August, Girly Bits Cosmetics What Happens In Vegas Ends Up on Twitter, and a KBShimmer water slide decal.
I started with Zoya August on my pointer and pinky fingers. August is a cool grey creme polish. Formula is thin and runny. This is 2 coats plus top coat.
On my ring finger, I used Zoya Zooey [gift]. Zooey is a textured peachy pink polish with gold shimmer and iridescent glitter. Formula is good, application was smooth. Shown is 2 coats and no top coat. Continue reading
Hi everyone! I bought KBShimmer None of Your Bismuth last week, received it on Saturday, and put it on my nails on Sunday – that’s how pretty this polish is. I’ve been taking a ton of pictures and I seriously have so many to share with you (multichrome polishes are so pretty!). This polish is only available until March 1 and I’ll let you know how to purchase it at the end of this post.
These inside photos were taken under my “professional” lights (har-har), near the pro lights, and by my desk LED lamp.
None of Your Bismuth is a multichrome polish that shifts from all shades of purple (royal, blurple, cool purple, red purple) to multiple shades of blue to teal green to icy teal blue to red to red gold and I swear I saw dark green as well! (Many, many, many photos to follow – I couldn’t stop taking pictures!) Continue reading
I was feeling super meh about doing my nails one week and decided to google “striped nail art designs” when this manicure by Paulina’s Passions popped up. I wanted to do something similar and here’s what I came up with using Pretty & Polished Weather the Storm, Polish ‘M Festival of Fall, and KBShimmer Poppy Kisses.
I started off with Weather the Storm on all fingers except my thumb and ring finger. This is a stormy grey-blue dusty creme. Good formula, though I needed 3 coats for evenness. This is 3 coats plus top coat.
On my thumb and ring finger, I used Festival of Fall. This is a “teal leaning dark blue base with blue/green/gold duochrome shimmer, galaxy holo, magenta holo shreds and multi-iridescent flakies“. This is 3 coats plus top coat.
Let me tell you, I feel like I should have just stopped here. But did I? Nope. 😛
Then I used striping tape and KBShimmer Poppy Kisses to create the rest of the manicure.
Maybe it was the fact that I was dreading doing all that work on my opposite hand, but this mani didn’t last much longer after taking the photos! But I’d love to know what you think of it! 🙂
So I didn’t realize when I picked out these polishes, but the names all kind of go together, you know? haha! 😛 I just was like “ooh, pretty shiny things!”
I started with 3 coats of Different Dimension Bad Buoy on my index, ring, and pinky fingers. You need to make sure each coat dries thoroughly, otherwise this’ll drag on each coat.
I then dotted with China Glaze Thistle Do Nicely on top of Bad Buoy.
On my middle finger and thumb, I used 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat of KBShimmer Alloy Matey. This does dry with a bit of texture, so doubling up on top coat is needed.
Even though this is a fairly simple mani, it sure packed a lot of punch! I’d love to know what you think, so please comment and share. 🙂
Hi everyone! I’ve been having troubles lately with quick dry top coats just not working out – Digital Nails Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That was my main squeeze, which stopped working; then Darling Diva Polish PETC became my love and it stopped working for me. I thought I’d do a little QDTC challenge between 4 brands: Dreamland Lacquer, KBShimmer, Paint Box Polish, and Top Shelf Lacquer. I’ll show you the results after 5 days of wear in just a moment but let’s talk about ship times, then application, then wear time.
Keep in mind that every person’s body chemistry is different, and your mileage may vary – this is only a reporting of how these top coats worked with me.
Dreamland: Ordered on a Saturday, received the following Saturday
KBShimmer: Ordered on a Sunday, received on Thursday
Paint Box Polish: Ordered on a Saturday, received on Thursday; my order also included a mani bomb, which was a nice touch
Top Shelf Lacquer: (Older order but I’m sure I received my order within 3 days of purchase.)
I used each top coat over a layered manicure: 2 coats of China Glaze Midtown Magic, 1 layer of Baroness X Opulent Oddity, 1 layer of Baroness X Dulcinea.
Hi everyone! Ready for Monday yet? I’ll be honest, felt like I was running ragged all weekend long – no rest for the wicked or something like that, right? 😛 Today I have a mani that I was trying to go for a “fall” vibe but I dunno, it’s kind of an “all season” vibe, I guess.
I started off with 3 coats plus top coat of KBShimmer Open Toad Shoes on my ring and pinky fingers – one of my favorite “interesting” nail polish color combinations.
I used 2 coats plus top coat of Pretty & Polished A Cashmere Rose by Any Other Name on my middle finger and thumb, followed by a floral water slide decal from KBShimmer.
On my index finger, I used 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat of KBShimmer Things That Make You Go Bloom. This does dry fairly textured, hence the two coats of top coat.
I loved, loved, LOVED how this turned out – one of my favorite manis I’ve done recently. I’d love to know what you think!
