Morning everyone! I worked on comparison posts this week with unicorn pee polishes – so called because the pigment used to make them is so rare. Today I have one of the newest on the market: ILNP The Magician to go up against a similar polish, Baroness X Sir Cockicorn [previously swatched].
Happy day to you all! I hope you had a great weekend. Today I have some nail polish swatches and layering to show you with SuperMoon Lacquer Mystic Mountain, ILNP Phoenix, and Bad Bitch Polish Dripping Icicles [press sample, previously swatched].
(Hey all, from here on out for a while, posts are scheduled ahead of time because Henry is here! If you want to see a picture, here ya go: https://www.instagram.com/p/BPTtw5KA5fb/ )
I started off with SuperMoon Lacquer Mystic Mountain, which I received in a swap with another blogger. This is a multi chrome polish that shifts from blue to purple to green. The green was much more alive & glowy in person.
Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! Who else is excited for 2016 to be over? I mean, it’s been a crazy year in the world, but I know that personally it was a pretty good year. But still, I’m ready for a new year and exciting things (like a baby, hopefully soon!). I decided to do some sparkly nails for NYE, based on a mani I saw by BreezytheNailPolishLover on Facebook. I’ve used ILNP I See You, ellagee My Sweet Romantic Teenage Nights, CrowsToes Nail Color Maxxed Out, and China Glaze Golden Enchantment.
ILNP I See You is a creamy champagne holographic polish.
Formula is fairly sheer, but it has a really nice holo flame without top coat. This is 2 coats and no top coat.
I then used ellagee My Sweet Romantic Teenage Nights for a half-moon manicure. This is one of my older indie polishes, and it still performs great! It is also the blackest holographic polish I own (I believe).
Over MSRTN, I first used CrowsToes Nail Color Maxxed Out in a waterfall pattern, then China Glaze Golden Enchantment (which is a clear base with holographic specks).
You can tell my half-moons changed. Well, I wasn’t happy with them so I tried to make them deeper and they ended up looking like cat heads. Sigh. I try to do one simple mani and they end up looking strange. LOL. Now that I’ve seen cat heads, I can’t stop seeing them, either!
Anyway, I hope you have a safe & fun New Year’s Eve – our crew will be at home celebrating. May 2017 hold nothing but the best for you & yours!
Morning all! I’ve been trying really hard to get some photos edited and posts typed up, but obviously you can see how well that went. But I made it for today! I’m back with my Pick Three Polishes series where I randomly pick three untried polishes out of my stash, swatch them and then attempt to make nail art with them. For today’s post I’ve used Daisy Island Oasis (a gift from Michelle at Manic Talons!), Formula X Voodoo, and ILNP Home Sweet Home.
Daisy (brand name) Island Oasis is a beautiful bright teal green. It isn’t as bright as my photos show, but I took about 50 pictures and gave up trying to get color accuracy, tbh. LOL. 😀 This is 2 coats plus top coat but it’s almost a OCW.
Formula X Voodoo is a metallic pink holographic polish. The holographic effect is more noticeable in real life, even inside. Continue reading
Hi everyone! I have a special post for you today. Some of you may know Roselynn of Manicured & Marvelous; she’s a great blogger, nail artist, and all around cool person. She’s been having some health problems lately and I wanted to do something to cheer her up. I asked some other bloggers if they’d be interested in recreating her manis and everyone posting on the same day. So here we are!
I decided to recreate Roselynn’s Happy Birthday Barbie! manicure. Well, I had a long list of manicures that I couldn’t decide from, so my husband helped me by picking this one. Let me tell you, I haven’t done such a super-girly manicure in…like, forever. LOL 😀
I’ve used 3 coats plus top coat of ILNP Daisy Jane on my pointer and pinky fingers. On my middle and ring fingers, I started with 3 coats plus top coat of Emily de Molly Learned Doctors.
On my middle finger, I created a gradient with Daisy Jane and Learned Doctors. Then using OPI Black Onyx, I attempted to recreate the Barbie logo, but I think I kinda failed. I did do the same nail art on my Cinderella hand, but the Barbie logo looked like a knight chess piece. haha!
I used straight vinyls from Polished Vino and ILNP Summer Crush on my ring finger, along with a bow charm from Polished Vino. BTW, I adore how the flakies of Learned Doctors coordinates so well with the micro flakies of Summer Crush!
On my thumb, I used 3 coats plus top coat of Alchemy Lacquers Elixir No. 10. This was a small batch polish I was able to snap up and my-oh-my, am I glad I did!
The sun was weak when I took this picture, but you can kind of see the holographic sparkle of Summer Crush and Daisy Jane!
Please join me in sending Roselynn all your good thoughts, well wishes, and/or prayers as she continues to struggle with her health.

Good morning all! Well, this weekend has gone a little sideways My two older kids are fighting like cats & dogs lately, and it’s absolutely driving me bonkers. I dunno if it’s spring fever or what, but I’m tearing out my hair here!
Formula was good on this, no complaints! This is 3 thin coats plus top coat. I will admit that as pretty as this outside photo is…
I was a little disappointed with how it looked in regular light. The above photo was taken in the shade, but it looked similar in low light. I understand that it’s probably because of the “ultra holographic” particles in there, but it ended up just being too silvery looking overall for me. Don’t you just hate when a polish is pretty but just disappoints you anyway?

Hi everyone! This is a post a long time in the making, because I wanted to be able to use and review Sweet Lacquer Nail Vinyls as a normal customer would, in regular manis. So this is going to be a longer post with a few different manis!
I’ve been having trouble with nail vinyls lately and Sweet Lacquer offered to send me a variety of their vinyls to try out. What impressed me right off the bat is that on the back of each vinyl sheet is basically a mini business card – their name, website, and what that sheet of vinyls is – as pictured above and below.
This is seriously genius because though I don’t use nail vinyls a lot, there have been times when I’ve used up a whole sheet and thought, “Now darn it, who made this and what was it called?” So, from a consumer standpoint, I wish all nail vinyl makers did something like this. It’s so useful. Continue reading
