Hi everyone! I know I promised to have more posts this week but alas, this “morning” sickness isn’t going away any time soon. I’m trying, I promise! (Currently typing this while wanting to puke on my keyboard. ) But I went through my photos and I did have this comparison post between ellagee Burnished Skies and Scofflaw Nail Varnish Diamond Dogs ready to go.
ellagee Burnished Skies was a fb group custom from a few months ago. This is a turquoise green crelly with bronze, gold, and color shifting flakies. I used 3 thin coats plus top coat.
Scofflaw Nail Varnish Diamond Dogs is from the Spring ’16 collection, I believe. This is described as “a vivid sky blue polish with gold and bronze flakes and finished off with a delicate violet shimmer.” I used 3 thin coats plus top coat. Formula was a bit watery.
Where Burnished Skies has a much more green base, Diamond Dogs base is much more blue. The flakies are also very different in the two polishes – Burnished Skies is copper, Diamond Dogs is more gold and bronze.
Burnished Skies was a fb group custom, as I said, and is no longer available. But you should join the fb group anyway! Diamond Dogs is still available from Scofflaw Nail Varnish as of this writing.
Hopefully I can get my ass in gear this weekend and get some posts written up! I do miss blogging – it really is my creative outlet to write and paint my nails. I hope you have a great weekend!
Good Wednesday morning! How is your week going so far? Some days, I’m really loathing the kids going back to school and other days I’m seriously rejoicing at the thought. 😛 But today, I have an oldie but goodie nail polish to show you: ellagee Cherokee Rose.
This polish was one of my very first indie nail polishes I ever purchased! This is a slightly off-white base with glitters of white and gold iridescent.
I’ve used 3 coats here with top coat. I should’ve done rose nail art as I did when I first showed this polish on the blog, but I was being a lazy blogger. 😛
Is there a polish you wish an indie maker would re-release? Which polish would it be?
Good morning my loves! Late post today, I know. I went on a road trip last week (with children, phew!) and I’m still recuperating from that. I had a great time visiting family, it’s always a let down to leave, you know? But let’s cheer up with a sparkly and fun manicure!
I started off with 3 coats of ellagee Crown Jewels on my ring finger and thumb. On my other fingers, I used 2 coats of Julie G White Orchid, then used a dry sponge to sponge on Julie G Cabana Boy and Fierce & Fab.
ellagee Crown Jewels is seriously an amazing polish! So sparkly and pretty – check it out in action on this instagram video I took. It does have kind of a textured finish, so I used a coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and then a coat of Digital Nails Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That.
I think I wore this mani for quite some time, I was just in love with it! It was just cheerful and happy. 🙂
Just an FYI, I came back from vacation and did a little mini de-stash of indie polishes, I’d love if you checked out my Facebook post and see if there is anything there you can’t live without. 🙂
Well, I hope you have a great day, and I’ll talk to you soon!
Good morning, lacquer lovers! I hope you had simply the best weekend. 🙂 It’s been super hot here, and my office is a sauna, so apologies for missing the In Case You Missed It round up post on Saturday. It’ll be back next week! Today, though, I have a super hot and fun summery manicure for you.
I started with 3 thin coats of ellagee The Cold Never Bothered Me Anyway on my index and pinky fingers.
On my middle and ring fingers, I used 3 thin coats of Julie G Oh Em Gee!. I then used Julie G White Orchid on my ring finger to create an anchor, and on my middle finger, I used a bow vinyl decal from You Polish (press sample).
Of course, here’s an up-close shot of the ellagee polish. Isn’t it just a beauty?
I had so much fun creating this manicure, and I loathed to take it off! Isn’t that the best thing about creating a good manicure, though? You can still buy the bow vinyl decals from YouPolish for $5.50 for 75 on a sheet.
Well, I hope you have a great start to your week, talk to you soon!
Good Monday morning, all! How was your weekend? We had a fun one with family on Sunday and on Saturday did some garage-saling and fun outings. I’ve also been powering through the Harry Potter series (again) just because. Today I have a fun manicure to show you featuring KBShimmer, Jessica Cosmetics, Pahlish, and ellagee.
I started off with 3 thin coats of Pahlish Star Upon Your Shoulder (Bespoke Batch) on my index and ring fingers. On my middle finger, I used 2 coats of KBShimmer Dressed to Gild. Lastly, on my pinky (and thumb), I started with 2 coats of Jessica Cosmetics Sharktooth before using chevron nail vinyls and ellagee My Sweet Romantic Teenage Nights.
I have to admit, I wore this for about 4 days before I finally had to take it off. It was so sparkly and pretty, I just loathed to get rid of it!
Have you been reading or re-reading any favorite books lately? I’m on book 6 of the HP series, so I’m looking for something else to read soon – leave me your favorites in the comments!
Good Monday morning, my wonderful readers! I hope you had a relaxing weekend. Saturday was a full day here – Strawberry Festival and car show and fishing (for hubby and the kids, I don’t fish), and Sunday we went to a local “festival of cultures” and then just relaxed. Today I have a fun layered manicure for you featuring Cult Nails and ellagee!
I started off with Cult Nails Time Traveler, 2 coats. TT is a beautiful TARDIS blue nail polish. (Apologies for not having individual shots of this!)
I then layered ellagee Breena (press sample) over the top.
Lastly, I dabbed Cult Nails Dance All Night on top of that.
This was a seriously sparkly nail polish combo that I wore for quite awhile! This sun photo doesn’t even do the glittery holographic-ness justice.
Isn’t it just nice when a polish combo just works out like you’d like? 🙂 The only bad part about this was removal! Time Traveler is, unfortunately, a stainer, and of course the glittery bits weren’t easy to remove either. But sometimes, you just gotta put up with a bit of nasty, right?
I hope you have a great day, and I’ll see you tomorrow,
