Good morning all! Maybe you saw an earlier version of this post…that had nothing written? Talk about pregnancy brain! I totally forgot to write or upload pictures. Geez! Today, I was inspired by a manicure that I saw on @margarita_onthe_rocks instagram.
I started off with 3 coats of Pahlish 10/6 on my index, middle, ring fingers; then created a gradient of 10/6 with KBShimmer Shore Thing.
On my pinky and thumb, I used 2 coats of Sephora Formula X Revolution topped by 1 thin coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust for just a little extra oomph.
I used water decals from Born Pretty Store [press sample] on my middle and ring fingers. On my thumb, I created just a gradient with 10/6 and Shore Thing.
There is a slight holographic shimmer in 10/6 but it’s almost impossible to see, to be honest. This was a manicure I had on for quite awhile…there was just something about the mix of colors, finishes, and patterns that I liked.
I’d love to know your thoughts on this manicure! I hope you have a better Monday than I seem to be having, 😉
Happy Valentine’s Day, my LOVE-ly readers. 🙂 Whether you celebrate this day or not or are just kinda “meh” about it (that’s me & my husband), I hope you are going to have a great day anyway.
Today I have a simple and sweet manicure. I started off with 2 coats of OPI Sorry I’m Fizzy Today, and placed Born Pretty Store hearts (press sample) on top. This is a variation of my pedicure that I have on right now, and while I like it for my toes, I wasn’t too keen on keeping it for my manicure.

Any plans today? I hope to see you here tomorrow for “Anti-Valentine’s Day” prompt!
Good afternoon everyone! This afternoon I have a 3D nail art design for the OMD2 Nail Art Challenge prompt.
I started off with 2 coats of OPI My Current Crush. Now normally, I don’t really like liquid sands, but I just fell head over heels with this color. I then used heart decals and blue studs from the Born Pretty Store (press samples) to create flowers.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this look! You can view all of today’s entries by clicking here to the gallery. I’ll see you tomorrow,
Good morning everyone! How is your day going? I hope you are ready for some fashionable nails!
Today I have a fun skittlette manicure for you featuring all OPI polishes: Ink Suede (blue), Hey Baby (pink), Black Onyx, and Alpine Snow, topped by Glisten & Glow’s HK Girl. I saw this fun color combination on fashionablyliving’s instagram:
I really love that pink with denim look, but since this is a skittlette manicure, I knew I needed to punch it up a bit. So I decided to add in black & white squares.
I’ve also decided to use some studs from the Born Pretty Store. These studs are super easy to apply with a bit of nail glue – and they stayed pretty well! 🙂
What do you think of this manicure? Would this be something you’d put on your nails? Don’t forget that you can buy those studs (along with a bunch of other stuff!) from the Born Pretty Store and get 10% off using the code “BHPW10”.
Remember that I still have my blog sale going on, and a giveaway going on this week as well!
Until the next time,
Good morning! I hope you are all having a great morning! We are half-way through this short Valentine’s Day nail art challenge and today’s challenge is roses.
Now I have to admit that I’ve cheated a bit. I received this sheet of water decals from the Born Pretty Store, and I cut them up into their own little squares like so:
As I was trying to think of what to do with these roses, my thought was what goes better with roses than chocolate and wine? The base color is Revlon Bare Bones. Then I’ve used Revlon Bold Sangria (dark purple), French Roast (chocolate-y color), Persuade (deep red), Impress (nude color), Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Black on Black, In the Mist, and Cool Gray.
Then I cut out the roses and added them to my nails:
Well, I hope it’s okay with you that I cheated a bit! I wasn’t quite sure if I liked this or not but my husband thought they looked really nice. 🙂 If you’d like to purchase these decals, be sure to use the code “BHPW10” for 10% off your order!
Let’s take a look at a plethora of roses, hope you aren’t allergic!
I’m having so much fun with these manis! Tomorrow’s theme is “hearts.” Until then,
Good morning everyone! I am so excited to start this Week of Love Nail Art Challenge! I love doing short challenges, so this is perfect for me. (Just to preemptively apologize if my pictures and format looks strange right now, I had a physical hard drive crash on Friday and am posting from my phone & from an old computer.)
I’m also reviewing some heart appliques from the Born Pretty Store in this post, because as soon as I saw them I wanted to use them as part of this manicure. These are great! These are super easy to use, my only problem is that sometimes the hearts hadn’t been separated well enough and they’re hard to separate because they’re so teeny.
I’ve started off with a base of Sinful Colors Easy Going – a very pale pink/white, except for my ring finger which I left bare. I then used SC Just a Pinch (green), Pull Over (yellow), Anchors Away (orange), Lavander (blue/purple), and Island Coral (pink) for the hearts. For the lettering, I’ve used SC Energetic Red. Lastly, I placed the heart appliques in rows on my ring finger.
What do you think? Of course, this is wildly impractical for most people, but isn’t it fun to do impractical every once in awhile? 😉 You can purchase the appliques at the Born Pretty Store here, and don’t forget to use the special 10% off discount code of BHPW10.
Let’s see what everyone else came up with for today!
I’m looking forward to the rest of the challenge, so until tomorrow,
Good afternoon everyone! 🙂 I hope you’re enjoying your day! I have some pretty nifty water decals to show you from the Born Pretty Store.
These water decals are something new to me – I’ve never used anything like them. They were easy to cut apart with a shop knife/exacto knife/scissors and easy to apply – soak in warm water for 10-15 seconds, apply to wet nail, and smooth out with a wet sponge or wet paper towel. Then let dry and apply topcoat! My only suggestion is that if you’re going to cut them smaller (like I’ve done), to have a pair of tweezers handy to place the decal on the nail. Otherwise, the decal sticks before you have it placed just so. Also, make sure the decals are really dry before you use topcoat – I didn’t and my topcoat smeared just slightly.
This first decal I’ve used over ALIQUID Lacquer “Quiet Night In.” You can tell that my pinky and my pointer fingers both had the decal stick before I was ready. I love this look though!
The decals looked just the white ones here, except smaller:
The second decal I’ve used over ALIQUID Lacquer “Make a Wish.” Like I said, I had a bit of smearing here, but I wore this all day yesterday and just loved how pretty my nails looked!
These are the second decals I’ve used:
I can see using these when I’m being too lazy to do nail art, or when I need a really polished and effortless look in a hurry. Or heck, just for fun! They have the neatest designs. 🙂 You can take a look at the designs here at the store and use the code BHPW10 for 10% off your purchase.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on these decals. Have you ever used them before, or purchased from the Born Pretty Store? Don’t forget to enter the Hobby Polish Bloggers Winter Giveaway – details here!
