This was quite a while ago when I wasn’t really taking notes on my manicures but I do remember how beautiful the green shimmer on this was and how I wasn’t able to capture it very well. Enjoy!
Good morning everyone! I’m so excited to show you a new indie nail polish box called Nouveau Geek. Indie polish boxes are kind of all the rage now, there’s one for creme polish lovers, and holo sub boxes, and now there is a sub box for us geeky people! 😀
The first Nouveau Geek box is all about Super Mario. I don’t know about you but I have so many good memories of playing Super Mario when I was a teenager. Everything in this box is themed around Super Mario, including the polish names and the extras. Speaking of the extras….
Included in the box are a package of Super Mario 3D Gummies, a star mani bomb from Lemming Lacquer, 2 felt nail polish remover pads from le polish, a Koopa turtle, and a Super Mario brothers coin. Yeah, extras on point! Now are you ready for the polishes? Check them all out after the collage!
I started with 2 coats of Madam Glam Perfectly Natural [press sample], then used Pahlish Sour Caramel Apple (green), Cotton Candy Creature (purple), Caramel Apple Orchard (red), and Spectral Taffy (blue) to create the ornaments. I then used Bohemian Polish Lake Placid Gold [press sample] to create the gold strings that the ornaments were hanging from.
Of course, we have to see what everyone else created:
Do you have a special ornament you hang on your tree each year? The commemorative ornament with my mom’s picture is the first on our tree each year. 🙂
Good morning all! Today is the third prompt for the 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art challenge hosted by Challenge Your Nail Art and it’s “silver & gold glitter”. Well, in my super tired state, I missed the glitter part of the prompt!
I could not get that Burl Ives song outta my damn head though, every time I read “silver & gold”, and seeing that dang snowman dance through my mind. You know the one:
And now it’s your head and I’m not suffering alone.
So I recreated the snowman’s outfit, sort of! I started with 2 polishes from Bohemian Polish’s Adirondack Winter: Boughs of Pine and Snowbound [press samples, both]. I used OPI Black Onyx to create the black plaid stripes, and OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby to create the gold stripes. On the accent nail, I also used an unnamed Zoya green, and Bohemian Polish A Cardinal in Winter [press sample].
So even though I went off-script (oops!), I still like how it ended up! Let’s see what everyone else did for today:
I’d love to know your thoughts about my manicure today, leave a comment below if you’d like!
Hi everyone! Today’s prompt for the Challenge Your Nail Art group’s 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art challenge is Christmas trees and I’m afraid I have sort of a fail.
I started with Pretty & Polished Docked in Biscay Bay from the Dusty Cremes line. Seriously, I adore the Dusty Cremes. They are hardcore perfection. My photos show it a bit bluer than it is in person, it is a little more green tinged.
This is 2 flawless coats plus top coat.
I then used Bohemian Polish Snowbound [press sample] and Lake Placid Gold [press sample] to create snow, the tree, and the star on top of the tree. I’m afraid that my tree just didn’t come out proper. I was trying to recreate this retro look and kind of missed the mark. But I tried!
Let’s see what other ladies did for today:
The next prompt (in 2 days) is silver & gold glitter – here’s hoping I come up with something good! What do you think of my silly little tree?
Good morning all! Have you already been up for sales? I don’t really do that any more, sleep is very precious to me lately. 😉 I do have a collection that released today from Bohemian Polish called the Adirondack Winter, an 8-piece nail polish collection. Lots of pictures ahead!
The husband of Jennifer, (creator of Bohemian Polish), shared fond memories of growing up in upstate New York, and spending winter days & nights at Cranberry Lake. All of the polishes are inspired by these memories – except for A Cardinal in Winter. Jennifer shared that seeing a cardinal in winter means you will prosper in the spring. (Oh how nifty!)
