Happy Friday to you! I hope you all had a great week. If you’re not following me on snapchat (username bhappybuypolish), I think you should – I’ve been giving sneak peeks of the newest indie polish subscription box called Nouveau Geek, which launches April 1. If you’re a fan of le polish, bohemian polish, 77 nail lacquer, Ellison’s Organics, or Lemming Lacquer, you’ll want to check this out.
Now for today’s polish: Arcane Lacquer Circles, Cycles, & Seasons. This is a “blackened base polish with forest green tone filled with green shimmer, scattered holo and the same iridescent flakes found in Voice of Contention [previously swatched].”
This is two coats plus top coat. I did find that the flakies have a tendency to stick up and the polish dries gritty.
I purchased this polish from Color4Nails, which has amazing shipping turn-around time and reasonable shipping fees. I’d love to know what you think of this one – would flakies that stick up bug you enough not to purchase?
Good afternoon everyone! I ordered a mystery polish from Pahlish last month and when I received it last week, I had to put it on pretty much right away.
This mystery is a white-grey holographic polish with flakies and iridescent glitter.
I was looking at the other polishes I had sitting on my untried table and decided to pair it with Arcane Lacquer Circles, Cycles & Seasons.
When was the last time you bought a polish you had to put on as soon as it came?
Uhh, what day is it today? If I don’t know, it must be a Wednesday since I hate Wednesdays and try to block them from memory. Let’s talk of happier things, like trying out new polish brands – today’s is Arcane Lacquer and the polish is Voice of Contention, which I purchased from Color4Nails.
Arcane Lacquer polishes come in a square bottle with a round brush. Voice of Contention is described by the maker as having a blackened base with “strong pink shimmer, strong scattered holo, pink glitter, purple flakies.”
Formula on this was just okay – it was a bit thick and the flakies stick up a bit from the nail. It does dry gritty as well, so 2 coats of top coat may be required. For my photos, I’m showing 3 thin coats plus one coat of top coat.
I really love the blackened base with the pink shimmer, and the flakies are a great addition. I just wish they didn’t stick up so much!
This is still available at Color4Nails if you are interested in picking it up for yourself!
