I’m writing this on Saturday night and dear God I am so glad this day is almost over. My husband had an employee call out sick and so he has to cover that shift; this means he’s working almost 20 hours straight. :/ This also means that besides having a head cold, I was run ragged by my 4 (wild, crazy) dear, sweet children all by myself from sun up to sun down. So I dunno why these are called sparkle because without top coat, they don’t really sparkle. :/ They are beautiful polishes though, and really, for the price they can’t be beat! Since formulas are almost the same across the board, I’ll talk about that at the end of the post. Continue reading

Lacquester Mortal Coil nail polish swatch + review

Purchased by Me buttonPolishes used:
Lacquester Mortal Coil, 3 coats and top coat. [Purchased from Color4Nails.] This has a really good formula, a bit more sheer than I expected. The brush is weird to me, kind of…stubby? It was just unexpected.

I guess I was a little disappointed in this polish. Like, I’ve seen so many swatches of it, that I kind of built it up in my head that it was this super amazing polish but when I put it on, I was kind of like “meh”. It’s so strange because it is a beautiful polish and super shifty! I found it most striking in sunshine, then I was like “woah”.

Shleee Polish Annihilation, Don Deeva Cardiac Arrest'ed thermal magnetic flame drag marble nail art full manicure | Be Happy And Buy Polish

I’ve been in a bad place lately with my anxiety and even though my nails are at a really nice length (*knock on wood*), I haven’t felt like painting my nails at all. I almost had an anxiety attack the other night because I couldn’t decide on what to use to paint my nails. That’s something I really hate about anxiety – the freaking out about stupid – absolutely stupid & pointless – shit. I’ve barely left the house because crowds give me anxiety as well as just general anxiety about being out in public.

Anyway, in a group I’m in on Facebook (Magnetic Polish Lovers), Christine (@shortywhatwhat) shared a mani where she layered a clear to purple thermal with a magnetic polish. I thought it was such a nifty idea and tried it with a clear to blue thermal and a different Shleee Polish (that mani will be coming soon) and it didn’t turn out. I really wanted this concept to work so I decided to experiment a little bit and found out a combo that worked in some flame drag marble nail art. I almost used Don Deeva Box Office Bitch – which I may use in a different thermal magnetic mani combo. Continue reading

Purchased by Me buttonPolishes used:
Cult Nails, 1 coat as undies

Versailles is the gold/green holographic polish, Brilliance is the multichrome flakie polish. This didn’t really turn out like I wanted but it’s still pretty! I just kept taking pictures in various lighting because it kept changing on me. 😛

Andddddd I have swatches galore in this post so it is a bit longer of a post. I hope you’re okay with that. 😛

Anyway, I saw an eyeshadow look on instagram from abajmiller and wanted to try it out. Of course, mine didn’t come out near as gorgeous as hers but that’s the way it goes. I’ve used the Lorac Disney Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales palette again (I used it last week in my art deco makeup look). Continue reading
