Good day everyone! Another Sunday and hopefully it’s a good one for you. Before we get to the Beauty Blog Coalition weekly roundup of links, let’s check out this pretty pink polish by Darling Diva called Pretty Bit.
Pretty Bit is a pink holographic nail polish. This is 2 coats plus top coat, as it dries matte. The formula is absolute perfection!
The holographic is a bit scattered, but you can see it peeking through.
I received this in a grab bag that I purchased from Darling Diva Polish and I’m glad it came! Their grab bags are a great deal too – 5 polishes for $25. Do you ever purchase grab bag deals from indie makers? What’s usually your impression?
Now let’s check out the weekly links from Beauty Blog Coalition members:
Good morning all! I can’t believe it’s the last week of 2015, can you? Seriously December just flew by and I’m amazed 2016 is right around the corner. Just a quick review of The Grape Beyond by Firecracker Lacquer for you this morning before we get into the weekly links from the Beauty Blog Coalition. 🙂
The Grape Beyond is a warm, red-toned purple creme nail polish. Shown here is 2 thin coats plus top coat, as it dries matte.
I’ve used thin coats as thick coats make this polish a little unmanageable. You do need to let each coat dry well before applying another coat as otherwise you’ll have dragging.
This is one of my first experiences with Firecracker Lacquer. I honestly wasn’t sure about this polish at first because I used thicker coats and it didn’t apply too nicely. I’m glad I tried again with thinner coats! This also was priced nicely for an indie creme polish – only $7.50 as of this writing.
I do have one other polish from Firecracker Lacquer and I look forward to trying out more! Now let’s see what the Beauty Blog Coalition members had going on this week:
Hi everyone! Late afternoon post here…we had the kids’ Christmas concerts and I admit to being totally tuckered out. Social anxiety and claustrophobia means stuff like that really stresses me out and leads me to panic attacks. Luckily today, I managed to avoid that, but it was a near thing. Anyway, I wanted to show you Pretty & Polished‘s Amethyst or Am I That this afternoon!
Amethyst or Am I That (what a great name!) is a beautiful red-toned purple – my pictures are slightly color-inaccurate.
Like all the Dusty Cremes I’ve tried, this one had a near-perfect formula. This is 2 coats plus top coat.
This is still available on Pretty & Polished‘s website and the price for Dusty Cremes are so reasonable! If you’re unsure, there is even mini sizes.

Good morning all! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve last shown you any Fair Maiden Polishes and that must be rectified immediately. I Wanna Do Bad Things With You is part of their Fright Night collection and it’s a doozy!
I Wanna Do Bad Things With You is a red-toned purple holographic nail polish with magenta sparkle. The macro here is more color accurate – I had the darndest time with that!
This is 2 coats plus top coat. I found the formula a bit thick (more so than I normally like) but I’m sure adding a bit of nail polish thinner would help with that.
I always enjoy at least a few polishes from Fair Maiden Polish when they have a new collection. My wallet doesn’t always allow me to buy them all, even if I want to! This was my must have from the Fright Night collection. As of this writing, it is still available at FairMaidenPolish.com.
Good afternoon everyone! Is your weekend going alright? My older two kids, husband, and father-in-law went to go cut down on Christmas tree (though we won’t be putting it up for awhile). So the baby & I are just chilling at home. 🙂 How about a few photos of OPI Gelato On My Mind?
This is 2 coats with no top coat. The formula is kinda jelly-ish, and a little streaky.
I was super excited to get my hands on this because I really liked all the photos I saw, but to be honest, I’m a little disappointed with it! I’m not sure if it was because of the formula, or what.
Before you go, let me know your thoughts on this polish! And be sure to check out what the Beauty Blog Coalition members did this week:
Good morning all! Time for one of my very first Octopus Party Nail Lacquer polishes: Baroque N Record “oopsie davie”. This was an “oops” polish by the maker of OPNL (Dave).
Baroque N Record “oopsie davie” is a sage greenish holographic nail polish with gold shimmer.
This is 2 easy coats plus top coat. No complaints about formula, it’s about as awesome as awesome can get.
This was one of my first OPNLs but it wasn’t my last (I have 8 more other than this). Even though it was technically a mistake, I think it’s great! Have you ever bought an “oops” polish from a maker and ended up loving it? What polish was it?
Good morning all! Has your weekend been amazing? Mine has been pretty great. Before we get into the weekly Beauty Blog Coalition links, I’d like to show you Pretty & Polished The Grape Flake:
This is 3 thin coats plus top coat, as it dries matte. This outside photo is more color accurate than the below inside photo.
I had to include this macro though to show you the flakes close up! Aren’t they beautimus?
