I know, I know. Halloween has come and gone. And I would have had this post up on Halloween or before but I’ll be honest, I’ve really been struggling with anxiety this week and being seriously stressed and overwhelmed (still am 😦 ). So blogging took a backseat (thank you, past me for scheduling a ton of posts ahead of time) while I’ve been trying to sort myself out. I’m not completely sorted out (who is these days anyway?) but I wanted to sit down and show you the manicures I’ve had on my hands over the last couple of weeks leading up to Halloween. I’ve done a blood drip manicure, a disappearing/reappearing manicure, and a Frankenstein themed manicure. A copious amount of pictures ahead 😉
So I had a post all ready for today, typed up and everything. And then somehow, it disappeared. No trace of it except that I had uploaded the pictures. Since I was starting over anyway, I decided to replace the post with this mani that I wore a couple of weeks ago with Pahlish Just Like the Setting Sun and Pretty & Polished Smoke & Mirrors.
Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! Who else is excited for 2016 to be over? I mean, it’s been a crazy year in the world, but I know that personally it was a pretty good year. But still, I’m ready for a new year and exciting things (like a baby, hopefully soon!). I decided to do some sparkly nails for NYE, based on a mani I saw by BreezytheNailPolishLover on Facebook. I’ve used ILNP I See You, ellagee My Sweet Romantic Teenage Nights, CrowsToes Nail Color Maxxed Out, and China Glaze Golden Enchantment.
ILNP I See You is a creamy champagne holographic polish.
Formula is fairly sheer, but it has a really nice holo flame without top coat. This is 2 coats and no top coat.
I then used ellagee My Sweet Romantic Teenage Nights for a half-moon manicure. This is one of my older indie polishes, and it still performs great! It is also the blackest holographic polish I own (I believe).
Over MSRTN, I first used CrowsToes Nail Color Maxxed Out in a waterfall pattern, then China Glaze Golden Enchantment (which is a clear base with holographic specks).
You can tell my half-moons changed. Well, I wasn’t happy with them so I tried to make them deeper and they ended up looking like cat heads. Sigh. I try to do one simple mani and they end up looking strange. LOL. Now that I’ve seen cat heads, I can’t stop seeing them, either!
Anyway, I hope you have a safe & fun New Year’s Eve – our crew will be at home celebrating. May 2017 hold nothing but the best for you & yours!
For tonight’s nails, I started off with 3 thin coats of Formula X Explosive.
I thought this was a black base, but it’s kind of a dark forest-y green base with gold iridescent glitters.
I then used straight vinyls and 1 thin coat of Formula X Moon Walk for this art deco-ish look.
I love how super sparkly this whole look is; plus since Moon Walk is textured, no need to worry about a ruined mani!
Here’s Moon Walk on its own – so glad I splurged. This is 3 thin coats and no top coat.
Moon Walk has really pretty pink sparkles in it that were pretty impossible to capture.
I’d have to say that I’m pretty much an old fuddy-duddy at this point. My family stays in, snacks on meat & cheeses and veggies, plus soup; we watch a bit of the shows on tv, then send the kids to bed for a bit before waking up just before midnight. What are your plans?
Good morning everyone! Just an extremely quick post to show you what’s actually on my nails today.
I started off with 3 thin coats of Fair Maiden Polish Secret Garden on my pointer and pinky fingers, then used wavy vinyls and OPI Cajun Shrimp for some festive waves.
On my thumb and middle finger, I used 3 thin coats of Polish ‘M Home for the Holidays. *hubba hubba*
On my ring finger, I started with 2 thin coats of OPI Don’t Pretzel My Buttons. I used OPI Here Today Aragon Tomorrow for the tree, and picked out glitters from OPI Minnie Style and OPI The Living Daylights for the decorations. The tree reminds me of the tree from Christmas Vacation (favorite line: “Merry Christmas! Shitter’s full!).
I hope you are spending this holiday season enjoying yourself, whether you celebrate Christmas or not. 🙂
Good morning all! I hope you are ready for a fun Halloween day! Kiddos have bowling league this morning and then later today we will meet up with friends for dinner and trick or treating. Then maybe some adult conversation, ooh la la! 😀 Here’s what I’m wearing on my nails today:
I started off with Polish ‘M Tangled Webs. This was a Halloween group custom for her Facebook group and it is so pretty. It’s super sheer though, this is four coats. Usually I’d say “ain’t nobody got time for dat” but I really love this color and wanted to build the polish. The bonus was that those glitters aren’t rough, so only one coat of top coat! Next time I’ll layer it over a similar color.
I then used some vinyl stickers from You Polish to make it even more Halloween-y.
I hope you have a fun Halloween – I’ll see you tomorrow for a polish from Different Dimension and the BBC weekly roundup!
Good morning, my wonderful readers! How is your weekend going so far? Have you started to celebrate early? 😉 We are off to have a good Saturday with my husband’s family, but first, here are my mani & pedi for today.
For my manicure, I started off with Pretty & Polished White Hot from the July box. This kind of finish isn’t my favorite, but since I was partially covering it up, I’m okay with it. This is 2 coats.
It has a really pretty green shimmer though that I couldn’t really capture, unfortunately.
I then used P&P True Blue and Red-y.Set.Go! (both from the July box) and wavy lines and stars from You Polish (press sample) to create a flag.
This is so pretty in the sunshine! I am in so much love with True Blue – I can tell it’s going to be a favorite of mine.
For my pedicure, I used the Little Miss Independent nail polish trio from Colors by Llarowe, plus China Glaze Fairy Dust. I know, the picture is taken at a strange angle, but I can’t take pictures of my feet anymore (thank you, baby bump!) so my husband had to take this photo for me. LOL.
Well, I hope you have a great day today, and be safe out there!
