Fashion Friday: Leopard Print

Good morning….err…almost afternoon! Haha I was trying out different nail designs and lost track of time. I went a little crazy yesterday and bought 4 new (or new to me) OPIs – I Knead Sourdough, I Lily Love You, Black Onyx and DS Lapis. My locally-owned beauty supply store is the absolute best and they have amazing people working there. (In other news, I’m selling some polish on ebay, if you would be so kind as to take a look?)

Today, I have a first for me – I finally tried out a leopard/cheetah/whatever print. I like how it came out, but first let’s take a look at my inspiration:

Fashion Leopard Inspiration

I’ve used OPI My Vampire is Buff for my pointer and pinky fingers, and OPI Black Onyx for my ring and middle fingers. On top of MVIB, I used I Knead Sourdough for the spots, and lined them with Black Onyx. (My thumb was also painted with Black Onyx.)

What do you think? I quite like how this looks, very classy, in my opinion! I Knead Sourdough is such a warm brownish reddish color; I didn’t think I’d like it, but I do.

Make sure you have entered my giveaway, if you haven’t already! Until tomorrow,

Fashion Friday: Lauren Conrad

I had so many different ways I wanted to title today’s Fashion Friday, mainly because my inspiration comes from an ad for Malibu Rum:

Up Close and Personal:

I started off with 2 coats of Maybelline Coral Glow. I then used a striping brush to make half-oval shapes on each nail with JulieG Ornamental:

Lastly, I added some dots with Ornamental:

I don’t like how my pinky came out, but otherwise I like it! Do you like it with or without the dots? I hope you are gearing up for a fun weekend! πŸ˜€ Until the next time,

Fashion Friday: Angles

Fashion Friday is back! Whoo hooo!! πŸ˜€ I really love doing this series – it pushes me outside my comfort zone, for sure. Today’s design is a shirt from Fendi:

Fendi fashion shirt

I’ve used 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow as a base, then using LA Splash in Blowfish, I created a yellow stripe on each nail. I then used Finger Paints in Warm He-Art-Ed for a triangular shape on each nail. Lastly I used essie licorice to create another triangle and a stripe down the middle and a stripe at the edge of each nail.

I love that Warm He-Art-Ed has this pink shimmer to it – it’s a gorgeous polish (and one I got on sale for $1.50 I think).

Here’s a comparison to the inspiration:

What do you think? I should have done the yellow stripe the opposite direction, but other than that, I really like it. It is definitely bold!

Don’t forget that You Pick Tuesday is coming up – let me know what nail polish combination you’d like to see on my nails, either in the comments here or on my facebook page. πŸ˜‰ Until tomorrow,

Fashion Friday (It’s so late)

Okay, well, I had to take myself off to do some errands, and I come home and it’s 4 hours later and I haven’t yet posted Fashion Friday! :/ Sigh. Some days are just like that, ya know? Here is today’s inspiration, a Banana Republic ad from Elle magazine:

I started off with two coats of OPI Don’t Pretzel My Buttons. Then I drew loopy “petals” with one of my nail art brushes with Zoya Jules:

I then filled in some of the “petals” with Zoya Cola:

I filled in the rest of the “petals” with Orly Gumdrop:

Lastly, the middle dot with essie No More Film:

Topped off with HK Girl fast dry top coat.

It didn’t come out quite perfect, but I do like how it ended up. What do you think? What would you have done differently?Β

I hope you are all ready for a great weekend! I will see you tomorrow for Day 6 of the OMD Rather Awesome Challenge! As always,

Fashion Friday

Hi everyone! Sorry for the late posting today, but this manicure took way more time than I thought it would. Add in that my kids wanted to eat lunch (geez, they’re never happy! πŸ˜› ), and I was doing laundry – well, anyway, that’s why I’m a little later than normal. But I hope you think it’s worth it because I really like how it turned out! Here is today’s inspiration (not the circled one):

Target Fashion Dress

This is a Target ad out of an Elle magazine. I’m planning on doing a manicure with the circled dress as well. (Such good inspirations!)

I started with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White, then using my striping tape, started at the base of my nails with a bit of Sinful Colors Cha Cha Red, following it up with successive stripes of Sinful Colors Anemone.

My stripes weren’t exactly straight, but I’m getting better with them! Finally, I finished off with a bow of Cha Cha Red and a coat of HK Girl top coat.

What do you think? I think it’s a perfect summery manicure for the weekend! I hope you are ready for a wonderful and beautiful weekend! Until next time,

Fashion Friday

Today’s Fashion Friday, I have for you an inspiration based on a shirt:

Fashion Friday

I started with 2 coats Sinful Colors Lavander followed by one coat of HK Girl.

Then, I used striping tape, and put a thick coat of Sinful Colors Mesmerize over the top, then quickly took off the striping tape.

Then, after a coat of HK Girl, I used striping tape again on the sides of the nail, and painted on a coat of Sinful Colors Black on Black:

I was going to do another stripe of a different blue color by the black, but seriously my nails are just not that big! I still need to work on my stripes being more even, but they are better than what they used to look like!

You’ll also notice that I’m trying out different placements, sizes, and opacities of my watermark. Please bear with me as I try to get it “just right”! Have a great Friday, and let me know what you think of today’s Fashion Friday in the comments! As always,

Fashion Friday

Products used are self-purchased.

I am so excited about today’s Fashion Friday! You may or may not know that I have a stack of magazines that I look through for every Fashion Friday. Last night I was having theΒ hardest time picking just one! I finally narrowed it down to this one:

Fashion Friday heels

I love the curves, I love the mix of dots and stripes, and I love the pop of color. I didn’t want to do the exact same colors as the inspiration though, so I switched it up a bit. Instead of the red, I used Sinful Colors Cream Pink, a hot pink with hidden golden shimmer. Instead of black for the dots and stripes, I used A England Tristam. I completed it also using Sinful Colors Snow Me White and essie licorice.

The following two pictures are both inside, with flash:

I love how the pink is so bright, and using Tristam adds a bit of shimmer and depth, instead of using just flat black. What do you think? What’s on your nails today? P.S. If you haven’t voted for me yet in fingerprints new blogger of the month (June), please do so here. As always,
