I Love Nail Polish Princeton & Dreaming in Violet swatches and review

purchased myself buttonGood morning everyone! I’m starting to be on the mend and a nice hot shower definitely helped. Aahhh! It feels good to be able to breathe. 😛

Today I have two more I Love Nail Polish brand polishes: Princeton and Dreaming in Violet. Princeton is described as “mint green holographic” polish. Well, I didn’t find it as minty as I would have liked, but a bit dusty mint green.  Showing here is 3 thin coats, with Glisten & Glow HK Girl topcoat.

Today I have for you The Devil Wears Polish Chromantic. Tami was going to have me include this in my All-Indie Radiant Orchid post, but for various reasons out of both our controls, that didn’t work out. But I have a pretty polish for you today – and a giveaway, so read through to the end!

Chromantic is TDWP’s version of Radiant Orchid, Pantone’s Color of the Year. The color shift on this is just absolutely gorgeous! This is 3 thin coats. For a bit of fun, I started off with AGO’s Matte-ict topcoat.

All-Indie Radiant Orchid nail polishes

press sample

Good morning all! This is a post I’ve been working on for some time, and I’m excited to finally be able to share all these pretties with you! I reached out to a lot of different independent polish makers to see if they were making their own version of Radiant Orchid, Pantone’s Color of the Year. I’ve had a great response! (Some of these were provided to me as a press sample, and some I have purchased with my own money.) Hit after the collage for all the lovelies!

Verity Nail Lacquer Lilac Cream

Gift button2014 favorite button | Be Happy And Buy PolishGood morning all! 🙂 I hope you are having a wonderful day so far. Instead of complaining about my hurt neck (again), I’m just going to just right into this beauty of a nail polish!

Lacey from My Boyfriend Hates Makeup loves the Radiant Orchid color as much as I do, and she sent me this polish that isn’t available here in Montana. Verity Nail Lacquer in Lilac Cream is the perfect hot Radiant Orchid color. It screams summer to me!
Verity Lilac Cream | Be Happy And Buy Polish

This is just a great cream polish – it applied easily and perfectly in two coats. Now I’m seriously bummed out because I can’t get this polish here!

What do you think of this color? I think I’ll be finding out where I can buy it online, because if the formula is this good across the board, I’m a huge fan! Until the next time,

ellagee nail polish: Blingtastic

press sample2014 favorite button | Be Happy And Buy PolishGood morning all! I’ve been cleaning my little tushie off this morning, that’s why the late post. But, I feel so much better now that most of the house is clean. It’s a sense of accomplishment that everything is so sparkly!

Speaking of sparkly, today I have the last of the ellagee Bejeweled (texture) nail polishes for you: Blingtastic. This is Laura’s contribution to the Radiant Orchid trend, and it is sooooo lovely! I’ve used 3 thin coats here. The formula is like Black Hills Gold and The Cold Never Bothered Me Anyway: a bit thick but still totally workable. The texture is not as rough as OPI Liquid Sands, but a bit like Zoya Pixie Dusts.

The following three pictures are without topcoat:

I cannot begin to tell you how in love I am with Blingtastic! It is a great polish, and so amazingly sparkly even in very lowlight. What do you think about this one? Which of the three I’ve shown you is your favorite?

You can find the Bejeweled collection here at ellagee.com for $10 each, and you can keep up with ellagee on her facebook page, instagram, and twitter.

Radiant Orchid nail polishes: The Glitters

Good morning everyone! I hope you are staying warm – so many areas are snowy and cold, so I hope you’ve got hot chocolate galore and maybe some brandy. 😉

If you’ve missed any of the parts in this series, check out part one, two, three (Dark & Vampy), four (Light & Airy), five (Brights), and six (Berries). If you’d like me to do any comparisons from any of these posts, just leave a comment below. Today’s post is glitters that fit into this category. I didn’t have many, but I did want to get them in!

First up, a comparison between Sinful Colors I Miss You and Sephora by OPI It’s Bouquet with Me. These were so similar, I just had to do the comparison. I Miss You has silver, purple and holo glitters in a purple jelly base. It’s Bouquet with Me is exactly the same, except in a clear base:

Next is Zoya Julie Anne:

Last is Emily de Molly Cosmic Forces, first with matte top coat, then with shiny topcoat:

This is my last post in the Radiant Orchid series for now. I’ve had so much fun doing this, and I’m now pretty much addicted to this color! I’m sure that I will have additions to this series as more and more companies come out with their version of this color. Towards the end of this month, I will have an all-indie post with Radiant Orchid polishes, so keep a weather eye out for that.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this, and if you have, would you consider sharing this page on your facebook, twitter, or google+ page? It shows all polishes categorized by company.

Until the next time,

P.S. My Boyfriend Hates Makeup was inspired by this post series, and came up with 20 polishes in her stash! Check out her post!

Mentality Radiant Orchid nail polishes

press sample

2014 favorite button | Be Happy And Buy PolishGood morning all! 🙂 I hope you’re having a great morning! I have been on pins and needles waiting to show you the pretties I have for you today, so let’s just get right to it, eh?

I have 5 polishes today from Mentality, 3 were sent for review and 2 I purchased myself. Mentality saw that I had a whole host of posts about the Radiant Orchid color of the year, and they asked if they could send me polishes that fit right into that. Of course, it’s Mentality, how could I say no? Fair warning: lots of pretty pictures ahead! 🙂 (Please note: I no longer support Mentality Nail Polish, if you’d like more information about this, please read my open Facebook post.)

With all the polishes, I started off with a 2 coats of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter-A-Peel. I used OPI top coat on all polishes.

First up, Gelato, an addition to Mentality’s Frosty Matte line. This is described as a ‘frosty red-purple polish with purple glass flecks.’  The formula was flawless, I’ve applied 2 coats here because I liked the look of showing just a slight nail line.

No topcoat:

I love how applying topcoat mutes the whiteness of the polish and brings out the purple flecks more.

Next is Lollipop, an addition to their Candy Jelly Holo line. This is described as ‘a red-purple jelly holographic nail polish.’ Shown here is 2 coats.

This is Tyler, an addition to the Jelly Collection. This is described as ‘a red-purple jelly nail polish.’ This is 3 coats, just to even things out a bit.

Now, for “my” polish (okay, maybe it wasn’t named after me, but that’s okay) – Jessica, from Mentality’s new Luxe Textured Glass collection. This is described as ‘a super dense red-purple glass fleck nail polish.’ This is 3 coats, for evenness’ sake.

No topcoat, no flash:
Mentality Jessica

I didn’t find that this was overly textured – nothing like OPI Liquid Sands that drive me bonkers. It’s more like slightly but evenly bumpy all over. (I did apply Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food before topcoat for those pictures.)

Last but not least is Royalty, an additional to the Purple Mattes. This is described as ‘a medium red purple matte nail polish.’ Shown here is 2 coats.

No topcoat:
Mentality Royalty

Royalty as an almost velvety look to it without topcoat, but with topcoat it has this amazing sparkle – and yes, it does look this pretty with or without flash!

I cannot say enough good things about Mentality – their products are great, their prices are great, they have amazing customer service, they have free shipping to U.S. address (seriously amazing!). You can find all these polishes under their 2014 Color of the Year section on their website, and keep up with announcements on their facebook page.

I cannot even decide which one is my favorite, to be honest! What do you think of these polishes? Which are your favorite, or can you even decide? I’d love to know! Until the next time,
