Happy St. Patrick’s Day, top of the morning to ya! 🙂 I hope you all are wearing a bit of green today. 😉
Today’s nails were inspired by an icon of St. Patrick that I saw, and I decided to do symbols of St. Patrick, or symbols associated with him.
The light green is Sinful Colors Song of Summer; the dark green is Sinful Colors San Francisco. I’ve also used Sinful Colors Black on Black and Snow White. The gold is JulieG Ornamental. Last, I’ve used G&G HK Girl for my topcoat.
On my pointer finger is a Celtic knot; my middle finger is a shamrock (duh); my ring finger is a bishop’s stole; my pinky finger is a bishop’s mitre.
I have to say that I’m ridiculously excited about how my nails came out for the last day of the challenge. That Celtic knot was a bugger to do, but I’m glad I tried it! It’s the last day, let’s see everyone else’s creativeness:
I’m also adding these nails to FingerFood’s Theme Buffet Link Up, so check out the rest of those nails here:
I hope you enjoyed this challenge, we’ll be changing the name of the Facebook group to reflect that these challenges will be ongoing, so come join us! Until tomorrow,
Good Sunday morning everyone! I feel like this week has just completely flown by. I’ve been so dead tired most of the week, I feel like just falling over. LOL!
Today’s prompt for the challenge is Shamrocks, Pot of Gold, or Rainbows. I decided to do a field of shamrocks, with an accent nail being similar to something I’ve seen on pinterest (which I can’t find again, dang it; if you see it, link me please!). But, it’s supposed to look like the leaves of the shamrock blowing away in the wind. Let’s take a look!
I’ve used Wet n Wild Listening to Blue Reed for the sky, WnW A Blank Canvas for the white clouds, and WnW Poison Ivy for the shamrocks.
I quite like the way it turned out. What do you think about this? Click the blue frog to see more awesome manis:
I hope you’ve been enjoying all the fun ideas here for St. Patrick’s Day. Tomorrow is the last day, and it’s “freestyle or recreate another’s.” Until then,
It’s day two of our Get Lucky Nail Art Challenge, and today it’s Ireland-Inspired. This category includes anything Ireland: the flag, the flowers, plaids, crests, claddaghs, the countryside, etc.
I decided to try for a partly cloudy sky with green landscape and Irish flowers. I used A Girl Obsessed It Rains Diamonds on Jupiter and Wet n Wild Teal Slowly and See for the sky, with WNW A Blank Canvas for the clouds. For the green, I used L’Oreal Hyde Park (lighter green) with Revlon Balsam Fir (darker green).
I did a bit of research, and I found that a native Irish flower is St. Patricks Cabbage, which seemed appropriate for the challenge! The flowers were done with Jessica Yellow Lightning, Jessica Sharktooth, and Jessica Conch Shell. On my ring finger, I decided to try to do a claddagh ring, which didn’t really turn out well at all! I used OPI L.A.M.B. and Black Onyx to create it.
What do you think? I like how my flowers came out, but really not happy about that claddagh. LOL! I can’t wait to see what everyone else did, let’s look!
I’d like to thank everyone who commented and supported me during yesterday’s #RAK4Lucy. I really did have an amazing day, and my heart was so full it was almost bursting. I didn’t do any of the random acts of kindness for acclaim but rather to focus on giving to others instead of being insular in my grief. Thank you to those who sent messages and also did random acts of kindness. You all are amazing! Until tomorrow,
Good morning! It’s the first day of our Get Lucky Nail Art Challenge, and it’s shades of green for today.
I started off with 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow. Then using just Alpine Snow and OPI Here Today Aragon Tomorrow, I created the shades of green! Using striping tape, I applied the shades on my nail, the darkest being Here Today Aragon Tomorrow by itself:
Even though it kind of reminds me of the paint swatches you get from a home improvement store, I actually really like the look of this. It just goes to show you what you can accomplish with only 2 nail polishes!
Let’s take a look at the other nails for today:
I hope you like these nails! Until tomorrow,
