Good morning my lovelies! If you’re celebrating Thanksgiving, I wish you a happy and fun day…if you’re not, well, have a happy and fun day anyway! 😉
Today’s prompt is “traditional Thanksgiving” and I started to think about what that means to me, personally. There’s nothing that says the holidays more to me than going up to my parents house and pulling out “the good dishes” and loading them up with yummy foods. So I’ve decided to do a take-off of the china pattern for my nails today:
I’ll be honest, I used so many polishes, I can’t name them all. When I stopped up at my parents’ house to take a picture of the pattern, I’ll admit that even just seeing the pattern brings back so many memories.
Let’s check out these awesome manicures:
Don’t forget our next challenge, the 12 Days of Christmas challenge is starting on December 1!
Holidays can be a hard time for many, myself included. I miss my mom so much, and every holiday that passes is another special day that her presence and her laughter is missed. For all of us who have a loved one gone around our tables, may there be peace within our souls as we continue to mourn them.
Hey everyone, and good morning! A fairly quick post for you this morning, my kids are excited that they have three days off from school, so we have a lot of stuff to do.
Today’s prompt is fall colors – a huge category. Everyone has different favorite fall colors! Awhile back, I had created a fall look with OPI polishes and I thought it would be perfect for today’s prompt.
I started with OPI Going My Way or Nor-way on all my fingers except my ring finger and thumb, on those I started with OPI My Dogsled Is A Hybrid. Then I used Can’t Afjord Not To (orange), Sleigh Parking Only (brownish purple), along with the aforementioned polishes to create a fall look. I just love this look – it’s so cozy and fun!
I’m so excited to see everyone else’s interpretation of this broad theme!
I’m so happy to be a part of such a talented group of people! Okay, tomorrow is the last day and it’s “traditional Thanksgiving” – what does that phrase mean to you and your family?
Good morning all! Today’s prompt is “fall foods” and I decided to go with one of my husband’s favorite Thanksgiving foods: sweet potato and marshmallow casserole!
I started off with OPI Can’t Afjord Not To, then sponged OPI Where Did Suzi’s Man-go on top of that. For the marshmallows, I used OPI Alpine Snow, then Going My Way or Nor-way and Wooden Shoe Like to Know for the toasted part.
Let’s see what other yummy foods we can look at today:
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s post! I’ll see you tomorrow for fall colors!
Today’s the first day of the Challenge Your Nail Art group’s Fall-ing For Nail Art Challenge! The prompt for today is “fall leaves + trees” and I’ll be honest, I’m totally dissatisfied with what I came up with. Let me tell you my inspiration first:
Fall in Montana is spectacular (when we actually get one!): there’s impossibly blue sky; the golden, amber, purple, and brown leaves; and just enough bite in the air. I really was going for a look of walking through a park that has the ground blanketed with leaves and the trees are bare.
I used Mentality Gumdrop as my base; for the “carpet” I used Mentality Wangari (Matte), with Cotton Candy, Tempest, and Educate sponged on top. Educate was also used for the bare trees. Lastly, I topped it off with good ole Seche Vite (press sample).
Well, it’s not my best work, and I definitely can’t wait to see what everyone else has come up with:
Let me know what your thoughts on this are, and I’ll see you tomorrow for fall foods!
Afternoon everyone! There is another upcoming nail art challenge that the Challenge Your Nail Art (CYNA) group has come up with: Fall-ing For Nail Art! It’s a combination fall/Thanksgiving nail art challenge, and I have more details for you after the jump!
