You remember the scene that the CrowsToes Nail Color is based on, right? The scene were Sandy shows off her new look to Danny? Okay, anyway, I loved how this bright pinky tangerine matched up with the dark CrowsToes. It’s like the two parts of Sandy’s personality – dark and peppy put together. Continue reading
American Classics Growth Spurt base coat, 1 coat
CrowsToes Nail Color Tell Me About It…STUD, 3 coats. As it is a jelly base, I needed 3 coats for complete coverage. Otherwise formula and application was wonderful.

August Polish Pickup Pack (please check out the FAQs if PPU is new to you) is fast coming up – August 3-6 and this month’s theme is “musicals”. Madame Crow over at CrowsToes Nail Color picked “Grease” – specifically the scene where Sandy unveils her new look to Danny. The maker describes this as a “saturated black jelly base with red shift shimmer and assorted coordinating micro glitters.” It will be available for $12, and there will be no cap.

I was taking photos today of my nails (as a blogger does) and looked down and saw how awesome my pedi looked so snapped a quick picture to share with you. If you hate feet, don’t click through to see them!
If you recall when I did my tiger stripe manicure awhile back, I had been inspired by kombucha_witch_ on instagram after failing to recreate a manicure of hers. I asked around and no one has heard of how I do this technique and Erika Elswick (from Forty Winks Jewelry) came up with the term distressed stamping. Keep reading to the end for a short lesson on how I created this mani!
Moonflower Polish Fluorite Glow [Blurple-winkle Polish Lovers Group Custom June 2018], 3 coats plus top coat. This dries semi-matte. It has a good formula and covers well in the first coat. I needed 3 coats for evenness – but my office where I paint my nails has been messing with my manis lately!
Oh my, you all. This polish is shifty magicalness (yeah, I said it) in a bottle. I have often admired Moonflower Polish stamped manis that others have created but I’ve shied away because I am still so horrible at stamping. (I know, what kind of blogger am I? Apparently not a very well-rounded one!) I wanted to get one Nadia, the maker, made for a Polish Pickup Pack – I Just Can’t Wait – but it had a cap on how many and I missed it. (But guess what?? It’s coming back for July PPU! Cue my squealing in delight! Check out Serene’s swatches.)
At any rate, Moonflower Polish does have polishes that are can be for all sorts of manis, not just for stamping, including this polish! It does stamp, of course, but you can also wear it as a regular polish like I did here.
Sally Hansen Rosy Quartz [press sample, previously swatched], 3 coats

Bee’s Knees Lacquer All the Dinosaurs Fear the T-Rex, 3 coats plus matte top coat
Oh my gosh you all. I am so over summer vacation and it just started. >.< And I just realized that it’s June and my scheduled posts ran out at the end of May. So ummm I actually need to do some swatching and scheduling. haha!
CND Creative Play Pinkidescent, 2 coats
Painted Polish Joie de Vivre, sponged
2 more coats of Pinkidescent
Plus matte top coat
Plus shiny top coat
Bows using Bad Bitch Polish Cerulean Sky and Poseiden [press sample]
Polished Vino bows
Ever have a good idea and then execution is horrible? Yeah, that’s what happened here. I should have stopped after sponging Joie de Vivre over Pinkidescent. I wore it for a day, I just didn’t like it. And spent ages scrubbing off glitter. Ugh.
