Polishes used:
OPI Turn On the Northern Lights, 2 coats and no top coat. Good formula, a little on the thin side. If I was just wearing this on its own, I would have done 3 coats. It’ll stain your nails!
KBShimmer So Jelly, 1 coat plus top coat. Use a light hand, basically float the polish on. I wish the unicorn pee shifting to green was easier to see on the nail.
KBShimmer Orbits and Pieces, 1 coat plus top coat. I used a light hand with this as well, since I wanted the beauty of So Jelly to shine through.
Okay, so I’ve currently become obsessed with magnetic polishes and I bought the whole KBShimmer Launch Party magnetic collection; I don’t think I’ve bought a whole collection (especially one so large) ever!
Anyway, last night I wanted to use Turn on the Northern Lights (TOTNL from here on out!), then spotted So Jelly sitting there and slapped it on over it.
Then my KBShimmer order came in the mail today and I just had to use one once they warmed up a bit. I chose Orbits and Pieces and I think it looks fantastic! (Hence why you’re getting a post tonight about this because I’m so freaking jazzed!)
What’s funny about this is on my left hand, I used the KBShimmer paddle magnet after I applied the one coat, then after top coat, I used the long narrow side of the Tonic Polish magnet.
On my right hand, I did the opposite. Both look really eye-catching, but I think I prefer how my right hand came out just a tad better!
I know, I know, I’ve gone a little overboard with the pictures. I literally got embarrassed this afternoon because I was sitting at a red stoplight admiring my nails and didn’t notice the light had turned green until one of my kids said something. 😀 😛
Haha! I’ve had those moments while driving. Sometimes I’ll stick my hand out the window a little and I’ll catch a glimpse of the polish looking perfect when the sunlight hits it at the perfect angle.
I felt really silly, it was the first time in a long time I’ve done something like that. LOL
