Shoot – is it really Saturday already? Dang – I had so many plans for this week with my kids and I think we got one accomplished (up for a sunrise on Monday). Oh well, we’ve got all summer to do stuff, right? How about some summery blue polishes from The Color Box: Blue Edition today? For some reason I’ve really been digging on blue polishes lately so I had to buy this box when it came out. (Psst, the pink edition is currently available for pre-order, and it’s featuring one of my favorite brands, Bad Bitch Polish!)
First up is Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Niagra Sunrise. This is a blue-grey polish with golden and red shimmer. Formula was a little thick for me (and I love thicker polishes) but applies sheer; it dries matte. This is 2 coats plus top coat.
Next is Baroness X Sakura Skies. This is a blue polish with pink glass fleck. I also saw some green shift!
Formula had a good consistency; it dries matte. This is 2 coats plus top coat.
This is Blush Lacquers Blue a Fuse (gosh I love punny names!). This is a darker blue jelly with black shreds, and holo specks. It had a good consistency but applies sheer; it dries matte. It does build up nicely in 2 coats but the flakes stick up. This is 2 coats plus top coat.
Next is Tonic Nail Polish Manna’s Mystical Masterpiece, a holographic blue that shifts to purple and has a beautiful blue glow.
Formula was sheer but had good consistency, it did apply unevenly though. It dries matte. This is 2 coats plus top coat.
Last is SuperMoon Lacquer Texas Treasures, a dark holographic teal. It does lean a bit more green than my photos show.
This had good consistency and applied evenly; it dries dull. This is 2 coats plus top coat.
I really enjoyed the Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer and the SuperMoon Lacquer – they’re probably my faves! I’d love to know which is your favorite so pop into the comments and let me know.
