Hello all! Today I have two polishes from one of the Creme a la Mode indie collab boxes, Literary Lacquers Salmon Chanted Evening and Octopus Party Nail Lacquer The Algae-atic Sea. I’m all about those punny names! (I’m unsure as to whether the C.A.L.M. box is still up and running, if you know, please comment.)
Salmon Chanted Evening is just what it says – a salmon colored creme polish. It is slightly pinker in real life. Formula was thin and sheer but it self-leveled fairly well. This is 2 coats and no top coat.
The Algae-atic Sea is a bright lime green creme polish. Formula was also thin and sheer. It did have a bit of trouble self-leveling, as evidenced by my ring & pinky fingers. This is 2 coats and no top coat.
To be honest I’m really picky about creme polishes because they are so easy to come by in mainstream brands. So would I purchase this box again? Probably not. That isn’t to say I don’t like these polishes! I can’t pick a fave – I love both of them.
What are your thoughts? Do you tend to stick with mainstream brands when it comes to certain finishes or go indie all the way?
Nice colors these are!
I tend to buy my cremes more from Mainstream brands, even though my favorites are from Indies. I love a good creme.
