Baroness X Obsidian swatch + review

Purchased by Me buttonMorning everyone! I’ve covered many Baroness X fb group custom polishes before (Doomfire, Vulcan, Sir Cockicorn) and today I have another to show you: Obsidian. (Psst, you saw it in one of the unicorn pee polish comparison posts.)

Obsidian has a black jelly base with unicorn pee pigment. I decided to try to layer this over a brighter base and over a darker base.

First I layered this 1 coat plus top coat over Deborah Lippmann It’s Raining Men.

This just doesn’t show up so well over the brighter red base, and you can see how unevenly I applied it (go me!). Perhaps if I had tried layering it thicker?

Then I layered Obsidian 1 coat plus top coat over Deborah Lippmann Rolling In the Deep.

Layered over this navy blue, you can see the shift much more clearly.

All in all, it isn’t my favorite of the group customs (that would have to be Vulcan!), but again, maybe I just haven’t found the right combination to layer it over! Any suggestions for me?
