Hi everyone and happy Friday! I’m back today with another comparison post. I was lucky enough that a fellow polish-aholic found Formula X Alchemy III for me, since my Sephora inside JcPenney’s didn’t have it. So let’s take a look at Formula X Alchemy III, and comparisons to Alchemy II [previously swatched], and the original Alchemy [previously swatched].
I first wanted to see how Alchemy III looked on its own. It is a very pale pink champagne base with gold and pink flakes. This is 3 coats plus top coat.
I decided to see how it would look over a nude base. It sort of dulled the sparkle of how it looked originally. This is 1 coat plus matte top coat over Formula X Brain Power.
Then I wanted to try it over a darker base. This is 1 coat plus matte top coat over Formula X Infamous. Infamous is a color shifting polish so it helps to see the different colors in Alchemy III.
Okay, now onto the actual comparisons! First let’s have a refresher on Alchemy II and Alchemy.
Alchemy II has a bronze base with pink, gold, blue flakes.
Original Alchemy has a silver base with gold, pink, blue flakes.
From left to right: Alchemy, Alchemy II, Alchemy III
I feel like they took the complexity of Alchemy and Alchemy II and sort of dumbed it down for Alchemy III. Don’t get me wrong, I still love AIII but the many different colors with the different color bases really made Alchemy and AII.
I dunno, do you think I’m wrong? What do you think about the three different polishes?
