Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you’ve been having a good weekend. After a week of super nice weather, today it has decided to turn fall and cool. Which is okay, I guess. All the better to bring out my vampy makeup and nail polishes, right?? Yes, of course. haha! 😛 I was gifted these Kat Von D Studded X mini lip + nail duos from a friend and I just had to get them out and play with them right away. Onto the pics!
First up is Lovecraft, a super “ladylike” and classy shade. For the polish, I used 2 coats and no top coat. Formula was a little patchy. The lipstick is matte, but I didn’t find it overly drying.
Next up is Coven is a light orchid purple. For the nail polish, I used 2 coats and no top coat. Formula was patchy. The polish also had a beautiful warm purple shimmer. The lipstick went on creamy (sorry for the redness! My lips forgot how to swatch!).
This is Bauhau5, a warm maroon in the polish and a bright red pink in the lipstick. For the nail polish, I used 2 coats and no top coat; formula was more of a jelly-ish consistency. For the lipstick, it is a bit patchy in application.
Next is Homegirl, a vampy purple maroon in nail polish, and a dark red purple in the lipstick. For the nail polish, I used 2 coats and no top coat; formula was smooth. For the lipstick, it did apply a bit patchy.
Last is Poe, a beautiful blurple duochrome in the nail polish and a blurple with gold specks in the lipstick. For the nail polish, I used 2 coats plus top coat; application was fine but a bit stinky. Beware: this will stain your nails & skin. For the lipstick, application was good; it does dry a bit matte and those flecks were impossible to pick up on camera. It also looks a bit more purple IRL than it does on camera.
For my eye makeup, I used the Lorac Princess eyeshadow palette [which was a giveaway prize I won].
Which nail polish and which lipstick is my favorite? That’s a tough call. I love the variety here: every day wear to night out to vampy to crazy. I’d say that Homegirl is my favorite nail polish. I have two favorite lipsticks: Lovecraft for it’s every day use, and Poe simply because it made me feel like a rockstar!
