Hi everyone! I recently pulled out about 50 untried mainstream brand polishes, and combining that with my current stack of untried indie polishes, I have about 110 untried polishes. I decided to start a new series – Pick Three Polishes – in which I’d randomly pick three polishes, swatch each one, and then create nail art with the three. For the inaugural post I have Fancy Glossย Dark Chocolate (holo), Emily de Molly Cracks in the Walls, and Wet N Wild Ferguson Crest Syrah.
Fancy Gloss Dark Chocolate (holo) is pretty much exactly what the name says: a dark chocolate holo nail polish. LOL ๐ Formula was smooth and great. Almost a OCW *one coat wonder*, but I used 2 coats plus top coat.
Emily de Molly Cracks in the Walls is a light grey-brown base with silver holo and pewter holographic glitter.
This is 3 coats plus top coat. Formula was a little thin but not uncontrollable.
Wet N Wild Fergie Ferguson Crest Syrah is a wine based jelly polish with flecks that shifts to red-orange. This is 2 coats plus top coat. Formula was thin, hard to control, and patchy.
For my nail art, I started off with Ferguson Crest Syrah on my pointer and middle fingers, then used nail guides and applied Cracks in Walls.
On my ring finger, I applied 3 coats of Cracks in the Walls.
On my pinky and thumb, I applied 2 coats of Dark Chocolate (holo), and then used an anchor nail stencil from Polished Vino with Ferguson Crest Syrah.
So my first outing for picking three random polishes worked out really well! I’d love to know which of the three polishes is your favorite and what you think of the nail art. ๐
That Fancy Gloss is gorgeous!
I agree Simona! ๐
The last one is so gorgeous. Looks like it has so much depth and the colour is just awesome ๐
I agree! I just wish the formula was better. *le sigh*
That’s a bummer, but for some polishes I am willing to look over that. From your photos this seems to be one of those ๐
I need you to compare that EdM to CNC Debogram
I’d say the undertone of EdM is brown compared to a purple tone to CNC Debogram.
Loving Fancy Gloss Dark Chocolate, I don’t think I own a brown holo.
It is a pity the Wet n Wild was patchy etc as it is a pretty colour
I’ve been into brown holos a lot lately for some reason. This one is so deep I just love it. And I totally agree on the Wet n Wild because in the bottle it is amazing!
Ooohhhh me likey! Both the polishes, the combined mani and the idea behind it all! I should do that and I would, were I not so disorganized…
I’ve been so disorganized lately because I’m moving stuff around to put in my nail nook. Someday I’ll get it organized again!
The colors look good!
I’m not a big fan of brown polish but Dark chocolate looks Amazing on you ๐ that holographic!!
This is such a great idea for a series! Cracks in the Walls is definitely my favorite from the group, I love those little added glitters!
