Hi everyone! I have a new-to-me brand on the blog today: Doctor Lacquer. They had a sale awhile back and so I picked up 4 polishes: 1 full size and 3 medium (10.5ml). Cartwheel is one of them and it is so beautiful!
Cartwheel is a warm-sensitive thermal, described as “a jelly base that transitions from dark and deep when cold, and light and gray to almost white when warm;” showing the “violet, blue and green shifts, and possibly colors in between depending on the angle and light source/strength.” Above shows how Cartwheel looks on my nails naturally with no forced changes.
Shown above is how my nails look after I’ve stuck them in ice cold water. I’ve used 3 thin coats plus top coat. The formula is thin, and obviously sheer; you also need to let each coat dry to prevent dragging.
These photos show my nails warming back up.
The purple shift to my nails was so enjoyable to see! The medium size bottles are actually really great, I enjoy that size and shape of the bottle; the brushes (at least in the medium size) are flat brushes.
My first experience so far with Doctor Lacquer is mostly positive. Shipping from purchase to door was 3 days. I do like the polishes I bought but one I had a problem with. I’ve emailed but as of yet, I haven’t received a reply back (2 days later). Edit: I heard back right before this post went live and am receiving a refund. I suggest if you’re unsure (like I was), to try out the medium size bottles. Have you had any experiences with Doctor Lacquer?
Really nice color!
