Hi everyone! Another day with the 12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge and this time the prompt is “candy canes”. Well, you should know by now that I do things a bit differently. I wanted to do a pinwheel type look with minty candy cane colors but it didn’t quite turn out.
I started out with 3 thin coats of Glitter Gal Cosmetics White Pointer. I then painted Glitter Gal Cosmetics Good On Ya and Bloke Chaser on a sponge to create a gradient over the pinwheel vinyls.
I think maybe if I had tried a radial gradient it would have turned out better? Or painted every other stripe red or green? I mean, I still like it, it’s just not very candy cane-ish. Now let’s turn to the other manis in the challenge:
Let me know what you think of today’s mani!
The candy cane nails look great!
Thanks!
Fun idea, but indeed maybe a radial gradient would have suited the design better. Oh well, you gotta try some things before you can be sure if it’ll work out or not!
Exactly! Now I know better. LOL
I still think they are cute, even if they aren’t really candy cane-ish.
Love these! It’s like a tropical flavored candy cane. Mmmmm now I kind of want one 😀
I lovr how this turned !
I like the look! I just thought of a lollipop though, because we don’t have candy canes over here and I am always used to see the white&red version only!
These look really neat! It does look a little bit like a neon lollipop though, but pshh, they’re still awesome 😀
I adore your interpretation.
I can still see the candy lollipop look!
Hmmm maybe a radial gradient would have been better, but still, I really enjoy this design, it is very much like candy cane, just a different take and I love different takes on stuff!
I really like the colors…they are different but still remind me of the yellow, red, green candy canes!
Love that you didn’t go traditional on these! Beautiful!
I actually really love these, Jessica! They make me think of pink lemonade flavoured candy canes… Are those a thing? If not they should be! Mmmmm.
I really like the idea you had for this and it turned out better than your giving yourself credit for. I know we can all be hard on ourselves when we have an idea in our head and it doesnt work out, but really is pretty.
