Hi everyone! I’m here with part two of Darling Diva Polish‘s “Hug My Face” collection, inspired by one of their favorite movie anthologies, Aliens! If you missed part one (shame, shame), make sure you click here to check it out. Click through to see the other 5 polishes to this collection. 🙂
Just a note: all the polishes in the whole collection dry with a matte finish, so top coat is definitely needed.
First up this go around is Did IQs Just Drop Sharply While I Was Away?, a beautiful brown-black base with scattered gold holographic bits and lilac purple flakes.
This is a sheer polish, but it builds very nicely. I’m showing 3 coats here with top coat. I do wish that the purple flakes were more prominent (I had zero trouble getting them out of the bottle) but they do provide really nice depth to the polish.
The name of this polish is inspired by this scene with Ripley.
Next up is In Space, No One Can Hear You Scream, a black scattered holographic nail polish with blue-to-green iridescent glitters, and holographic shards.
This is 2 coats with 2 coats of top coat because it dries gritty.
This is inspired by one of the tag lines of the original Alien movie. Doesn’t it just look like space come to life on the nail?
Xenomorph is a deep green-black nail polish with flakies that shift from green to blue and small glitters that shift from blue to purple to red to yellow to orange (which were impossible to capture, I tried!). You can see at the edges of the bottle the color shift.
This is 3 coats plus top coat. If I would have been more careful, I could’ve gotten away with 2 coats, but 3 provides a nice depth. It is a bit thick, but I attribute that to the flakies, which were no problem to get out of the bottle.
This is obviously inspired by what the Aliens are actually called, Xenomorphs.
Next up is Long Live the Queen!, a blackened holographic green-teal nail polish with iridescent rainbow flakies. I’m slayed over here!
This is 3 thin coats plus 1 coat of top coat.
Seriously, I’m dead over here. Dead, dead, dead….(imagine Bartok the Bat saying that!)
Last is one of my favorites from the whole collection, Bad Ass. This is a black-blue holographic nail polish.
I’m wearing 2 coats here with 1 coat of top coat.
This is inspired, once again, by Private Hudson (scene here). I totally relate to when he says, “You do not wanna f*ck with me.” That is exactly how I feel when I wore this polish!
Decisions, decisions…which is my favorite? Of course, Bad Ass is number one, but I really love each of them!
This collection will be releasing on Friday, August 28 and prices will range from $8.50 to $12. Be sure to follow Darling Diva Polish on Facebook, twitter, and instagram for all their latest updates.
Such rich deep colors for fall. I love those shots of them in the sun.
So my need list includes Long Live the Queen and you just made me cave on Did my IQ Just Drop! Eeeeek excited for new Darling Divas!
