Good morning, my faithful readers! I have quite the post for you today, so I wanna jump right into it. 😀 Darling Diva Polish will be releasing a new collection called the “Hug My Face” collection, inspired by one of their favorite movie anthologies, Aliens! I’m dividing this up into two posts, because I could not stop taking photos #sorrynotsorry! Click through to see all the beautimus polishes:
Just a note: all the polishes in the whole collection dry with a matte finish, so top coat is definitely needed if you want that shiny look.
First up is Mother, a white-grey holographic nail polish. I’ve used 3 thin coats plus top coat for Mother.
White holographic nail polishes are really hard to pull off, but I think Darling Diva did a great job with this.
This was inspired by MU-TH-UR 6000, the computer mainframe for the Nostromo, and I think it matches the inspiration perfectly!
Next up is A-ffirmative, a blue holographic nail polish with purple shimmer. The formula on this is a bit thin, I’ve used 3 thin coats plus top coat.
The purple shimmer was hard to capture, but it really does lend some beautiful depth to this blue polish.
This polish was inspired by the character Newt (Carrie Henn) who copies Private Hudson saying affirmative. (Sound clip here.)
Game Over, Man! is next, a red jelly polish with iridescent glitters and holographic silver shards. This is 3 thin coats plus 2 coats of top coat.
This dries gritty as well as matte, so you will need a glitter smoothing top coat followed by a shiny top coat.
This polish is inspired by Bill Paxton’s character, Private Hudson, in “Aliens”. (Here’s a clip of Hudson saying this signature line.)
Next is Have You Ever Been Mistaken For a Man? Say hello to my oompa-loompa skin tone! 😛 I had the darndest time getting a color-accurate photo for this polish. My camera just hates warm, grapey toned polishes.
Anyway! This is a warm, grape-toned holographic nail polish with gold holographic shimmer. I die over it. I really do. Because gorgeousness smacks you in the face. This is 2 coats plus top coat.
This is inspired by Private Hudson (Bill Paxton) asking Private Vasquez (Jenette Goldstein) if she’s ever been mistaken for a man. (Great clip of the scene here, I laugh every time!)
Well, this is the first half of this awesome collection, I’ll have the other 5 polishes in a couple of days. Which one here is your must-have polish?
