Sally Hansen Pearl Crush nail polish collection (partial)

Press Sample buttonGood afternoon! How is your day going? I’m feeling good – I’ve been trying to walk at least 5 days a week (my goal is 12 miles per week), so I’m feeling accomplished. 🙂 This afternoon I have 4 of the Sally Hansen Pearl Crush nail polishes to show you.

Sally Hansen Pearl Crush Clam Digger over Black Tie | Be Happy And Buy Polish

Sally Hansen Pearl Crush Clam Digger over Black Tie macro | Be Happy And Buy Polish

Clam Digger is a sheer blue-black pearlescent nail polish with large iridescent hexes. This is 1 coat + dabbing over Sally Hansen Black Tie (3 thin coats).

The good: I love the layering you can do with these polishes, and the hexes are so pretty! Clam Digger’s base color is especially pretty with the hexes (and the one I wanted to love the most).

The bad: The formula on these is so thick, but those hexes are so hard to place on the nail! Almost every single hex you see for every polish had to be placed on the nail – it did not come out naturally. (Each polish was placed upside down for at least 5 minutes.)

I really wanted to like these, I truly did, but the formula makes it very hard. If you are dead-set on buying them, I would definitely wait until they are on sale. 😦

I’d love to know if you’ve seen these yet, or bought any! Was your experience different than mine?

  1. I am supposed to get these but now I worry about them. I didn’t know you needed a base color so I’m very glad you said that. I think I like the white best.

  2. I struggle when a polish is so thick or the glitters just do not come out… I hate having to place them on the nail and since I’m always on the go with the boys, I need a polish that will dry and thick ones never do. If these go on sale I’ll check them out because they are such pretty toppers but I seen them in CVS for $9.99 the other day – glad I didn’t do a double take.
