Ellison’s Organics Mani Defense Liquid Latex Shield review + nail art

Press Sample buttonGood Monday morning, amazing readers! I hope you have your choice of stimulant this morning (aka coffee, tea, juice!) and are ready for a bright and beautiful day. I have a review of a new liquid latex mani defense shield on the market from Ellison’s Organics, plus a nail art look!

Update: Carleigh (the maker) says to never leave the latex mani defense shield in a hot place like your car or a hot mailbox, otherwise it will have a rancid odor. If you have any problems with it, please email ellisonsorganics@gmail.com.

Mani Defense Liquid Latex Shield is similar to other liquid latex products I’ve tried, but this one seemed easier to spread across the nail (wasn’t as thick), and easier to peel off from the skin. It’s also a blue-teal color as opposed to sky blue in my photos.

I decided to try my hand at a splatter nail art manicure. I’ve tried these in the past and they have never worked! Plus, they are super messy and what better way to test out this mani defense shield? I used all the colors from the “You Are” nail polish collection from Ellison’s Organics.

As you can see, some parts were a little too blobby, but I think overall, it came out really neat looking! I tried to get a glow-in-the-dark picture, but none came out (my fault, not the polishes’ fault!).

Ellison’s Organics Mani Defense Liquid Latex Shield is now available at the Ellison’s Organics etsy storefront for $6. Have you ever tried out a liquid latex product for easy clean-up? I’d love to hear your experiences!

  1. I like seeing this in action. I didn’t know you’d have to paint that far onto your fingers. Do you do that all the time or just with a messy design like this? I love the finished effect.

    • I just received the mani defender from Ekkison’s Organics. I ordered the limited addition gold/yellow color. Although it works great the odor is rancid. The smell is so bad that I stopped using it. Did anyone else have this problem?

      • Hi Maggie! Carleigh from Ellison’s Organics here. I’m so sorry your Mani Defender arrived smelling rancid. The smell can happen when the Mani Defender is exposed to excessive heat, such as being left in a car on a hot day. Please send me an email with your info and I will gladly replace these for you!

  2. Such a good use of liquid latex! I have one from Eat. Sleep. Polish. that I use for gradients, stamping and water marbling! Makes the job so much easier!
