Good morning my wonderful readers! I know what you’re thinking…”Two days in a row, she’s posting?!” and all I have to say is…I know, right! haha! But I’m so excited to bring you the Spring In Your Step nail polish collection from Finger Lickin’ Lacquer. Click through after the collage to see all the beauties!
First up is She Works Hard For the Honey, a clear based black and gold glitter topper. I’ve first layered this over OPI That’s Hula-rious (since that’s what I had on my nails at that moment).
Then I layered 1 coat over FLL Quite Contrary. This is seriously a great glitter topper, no complaints on formula at all!
Next is Quite Contrary, described as “cream with the slightest hint of green, this holo with pink flakes recalls hardy wildflowers poking through the last of winter’s snow.”
This is 3 coats, and I found it to dry fairly fast and a bit unevenly. Just go slow and let each coat dry before applying the next.
Next we have Peachy Keen, described as a “fruity coral holo with golden flakies smells like spring in the South, with the peach orchards in blossom again.” I have a fairly sensitive nose, and I didn’t find there to be a scent to this polish.
This is 3 coats and the formula is fairly thick and sheer. The inside photos show it waaaayyy pinker than it should be, the outside photos are more color-accurate. It is bright and pretty though!
Now we have Eat Me, described as a “warm cocoa crelly with pastel pink and blue flecks, its sweet chocolate scent will make you want to bite the ears off your Easter bunnies.” I did notice a faint chocolate scent, kind of like the chocolate scratch n sniff stickers from when I was a kid.
This is 3 easy coats, no problems with formula or getting out the glitters. I adore the pop of blue with the chocolate base!
Next to last is Lilac Festival, described as a “violet holo with tiny yellow flakies brings spring to life.” This polish is unscented.
This is 3 coats, and it’s my favorite. It reminds me of the lilac bushes at my parents’ house that should be blooming soon. I could stare at this one forever! Outside photos are more color-accurate than inside photos.
Last is Birthday Suit, celebrating Finger Lickin’ Lacquer’s one-year birthday! This is described as a “nude crelly with confetti-like flecks of pastel glitters and the sweet smell of success–and birthday cake.” I did not find the scent to be overwhelming at all.
By itself, it was very sheer and I used 3 coats. I also decided to layer 1 coat over OPI Did You ‘Ear About Van Gogh, and I quite like the look!
In addition, FLL is releasing a spring scent cuticle oil in grass. I was more than a bit wary when I first opened this up, but it smells so fresh! It reminds me exactly of freshly cut grass. It isn’t offensive or overly strong.
Finger Lickin’ Lacquer features 5-free polishes with a flat brush for easy application. The Spring In Your Step collection will be available March 20, 2015 and will retail for $9 each (seriously great price!). Be sure to follow them on Facebook, twitter, and instagram.
Overall, I’m really impressed with this new-to-me indie and I’m definitely checking out more of them (including the Supernatural inspired set!). My picks from this collection are definitely Peachy Keen, Eat Me, and Lilac Festival. What are your favorites?
