Sally Hansen Midnight in NY + Pink Dream swatches + review

Purchased by Me buttonGood morning lovely readers! I have a sick little girl at home today, so a quick post for you with Sally Hansen Midnight in NY and Sally Hansen Pink Dream.

Sally Hansen Midnight in NY | Be Happy And Buy Polish

I picked up Midnight in NY a week or so ago at Big Lots – great deal for $1! This is a black based polish with teeny flecks of amber, pink, and blue (perhaps more, it’s hard to tell!).

I just wish the flecks were a bit more prevalent, they are almost completely lost! *sad panda* It also didn’t go on very evenly, this is 2 1/2 coats.

I then used Sally Hansen Pink Dream on top of this. I picked this up on clearance at Kmart quite awhile ago, but just couldn’t find a good undie to go with it.

This is a slightly tinted base with iridescent glitters of different shapes and sizes. I used 1 coat plus a shiny top coat on top of Midnight in NY.

Though Midnight in NY was a disappointment, Pink Dream for me is a definite hit! I’d love to know what you think.

Well, I’m off to comfort my sick girl, I hope you are all staying healthy!

  1. It looks pretty in the bottle but on the nails, totally agree that I thought the shimmer would be more noticeable too. It looks good paired with that glitter though.

  2. I almost bought Pink Dream when I saw it on clearance a while back. Have you tried swatching it by itself? I’m curious if the tinted base is noticeable on the nail? I have Snow Globe, which is basically the same polish in a clear base.

  3. I actually love both of these, and they look beautiful layered. I tried layering Pink Dream over pale neutrals and over a shimmery dark blue and I liked it best over the blue. I think it is nice over a dark base, brings out its iridescence.
