Favorite Mainstream Nail Polishes of 2014

2014 Favorite Mainstream Polishes | Be Happy And Buy Polish
Good morning! Today is the last of my year round-ups and we’re talking about mainstream polishes! Let’s talk about brands, first. Of course, OPI really is my first polish brand love, so it’s going to be among my favorites; even though they didn’t release too many unique polishes, they did have some stand-outs. I also was impressed by Sinful Colors – they always have a great range of finishes, and textures in unique combinations.

Like yesterday’s post, these aren’t all necessarily polishes that were released in 2014, but they were ones I swatched and showed off in 2014. Why 16? Because I couldn’t make up my mind, darn it! Here we go….

Verity Lilac Cream – Verity is a brand that I just love for their inexpensive polishes yet great formulas and range. This was a gift that started my journey with them!

OPI L.A.M.B. – Still a favorite for the lovely satin finish and muted gold.

Sally Hansen Twinkled Pink – Surprisingly I really loved this glitter combination!

Jessica Dynamite Teal  – Jessica Cosmetics makes some of my favorite polishes, including Sharktooth, my number one favorite white polish.

China Glaze Lux & Lush – My first flakie polish and I loved it so much!

Wet N Wild Contact High – I still can’t get over this bright jelly polish!

Sinful Colors Face the Facets – Say what? A texture polish from Sinful Colors, and what’s even crazier – a yellow polish I liked!

OPI Feel the Moheatoes – an amazing minty green that I adored!

NYC New York Color Tropicoral – Nothing wrong with a great bright pink coral polish that’s inexpensive!

OPI The Sky’s My Limit – I have a feeling this’ll be on a lot of lists – be sure to check out my original post where I put a coat of one of the Sheer Tints on top of this!

Sally Hansen Water Orchid – I still love this cool purple polish!

China Glaze X-Ta-Sea – This bright but vampy purple is just right up my alley, fall, summer, winter or spring!

OPI My Dogsled is a Hybrid – Another amazing green from OPI. Who didn’t love this crazy good formula and beautiful sea foam color?

China Glaze Choo Choo Choose You – Another polish I’m sure will be on a lot of year-end lists. It’s just insanely beautiful!

Sinful Colors Mystery Moonshine – Sinful Colors shredded glitter topper that had me begging for more!

L’Oreal Masked Affair – Since this is recent, people are still searching high and low for this amazing holo from a mainstream brand!

Honorable mention really should go out to Barielle polishes. Though they didn’t really make any really unique polishes, they had solid collections that I really loved (including the Jetsetter collection).

Which of these polishes are your favorites? Did I miss any that you thought were great for 2014?

  1. Great picks, Jessica! I agree, SC had a lot of awesome releases this year and I love Face The Facets, too. My Dogsled is a Hybrid is definitely a gorgeous standout from OPI, and I’m still on the lookout for that L’Oreal holo….
