Quaint Paints Lacquer Atomic Refreshment collection swatches + review

Press Sample buttonGood morning, fan-freakin-tastic readers! I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was crazy but that’s the way it is lately. Today I have four polishes to show you from a fairly new indie brand: Quaint Paints Lacquer. Before I get into the full collection & review, I just have to say that I love the thought and detail that the maker has put into the labels – they totally set the tone for each polish.

The Atomic Refreshment collection is based on the video games Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. I’ll let the maker explain the inspiration in her own words:

This collection was inspired by the bottled soft drinks found scattered throughout the desolate Wastelands…Never heard of the games? In a nutshell: the year is 2277 (2281 in New Vegas), 200 years after the world had been nuked by atomic warfare. Humanity persists, though day-to-day life is threatened by mutated monsters and humans alike. Throughout your travels, you’ll often find pre-War, irradiated bottles of soda that are not only refreshing, but their caps are used as currency in this new world.

Sun of a Sassafras is a glitter topper that has a slight yellow tone to it, with bar glitters, blue stars,  yellow blossoms (or suns), and metallic hexes and glitters of red, brown and gold. Now, you all know I’m not the biggest fan of bar glitter, but they go so well in this topper. I definitely get a “western” sort of vibe. Plus, this polish has the option of being root beer scented! It wasn’t too strong of a scent, but I could definitely smell it. I did have to fish a bit for the suns, but the stars were easy to get out. This is 1 coat dabbed over Sinful Colors Snow Me White (2 coats):

The Nuclear Beverage Choice is a brown jelly base with shards of white and red and shimmers of gold. This is also scented, kind of like cola, but I found it to a bit more “spicy” smelling than just regular cola. (I like it a lot!) This is 3 coats, with Wet N Wild matte top coat:

Let’s shine it up, hmm? This is with 1 coat of Wet N Wild shiny top coat:

High Fructose Victory is a strawberry pink jelly base polish with gold stars, and gold, red, and orange hexes with scattered holographic effect. Pink polishes aren’t usually my thing, but honestly, I love the edginess to this polish! This is 3 coats, with Wet n Wild matte top coat:

Hey guess what? It glows in the dark as well! It glows orange for a little bit, before fading. Apologies, I’m still trying to work on my GITD pics. (Any tips from bloggers?)

Quantum Fizz-ics is a blue jelly base polish with holographic silver stars, with holographic silver, blue, and purple hexes in various sizes. I did have to fish for the stars a bit. I absolutely love the addition of the purple hexes! This is 3 coats, with Wet N Wild matte top coat:

This one also glows in the dark, and it does last longer than High Fructose Victory. Even my husband noticed how bright it glowed!
