Good morning, beautiful reader! 🙂 I hope you are having a great week so far. For today’s Christmas tree prompt, I’ve done something a bit different.
I wanted to create an outside snowy scene a la the scene in Frosty the Snowman where the animals have a Christmas tree decorated in the middle of the forest…but classier than that. haha!
I started off with mixing together OPI Black Onyx with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls to get a gray color to paint on my nails as a base. Then I lightened that mixture up even more with adding more MBSW to sponge on here and there over each nail. I used Alpine Snow for little flakes of snow, to create rolling hills, and to create the bare tree. Lastly, I used The Thrill of Brazil for ornaments on the tree!
What do you think about this snowy scene? I really am happy with how it turned out. Let’s take a peek at some more Christmas trees!
I’m also participating in the annual holiday nails blog hop hosted by The Sparkle Queen:
Before you go, I’d love to hear your opinion: Christmas trees up early (Thanksgiving or earlier) or put up the tree mid-December or later? We put ours up right before Christmas, it’s a fun tradition for our family.
Cute mani for winter!
Thanks Allison! 🙂
I love these! Very cute.
Oh I love your take on this! The greys and whites really make it feel like a snowy scene and then that pop of red brings it to vibrant life!
I like it! 🙂 Reminds me of a painting.
I love your take on this, with non traditional colors but the red really makes it pop! Love it!
Stunning! I love the serenity of the greys against the pop of red!
Thank you Sumeet!
Aww, look at that cute tree! Great color scheme, too ♥.
Thank you! ❤
I love your shorter nails! It suits you well. And what a great mani too!
Thank you! I’m still getting used to the shorties. LOL
Very unique take on the prompt, I love that and this is so pretty and well done!
Thanks Kirby!
Totally looks like a wintery scene I’ve experienced in real life. Its awesome.
Yay! I’m glad it looks realistic!
This is so pretty and yet it looks chilly at the same time. You’re so creative with your art for these challenges.
Oh thank you! ❤
OMG! What a cute mani!! It looks so amazing!
Thanks! 🙂
I love this! It is very elegant! I typically put mine up somewhere towards the beginning of December (probably going to happen this Friday since I have the day off work!).
Fun! I hope you have a good time! 🙂
I’m freezing now 😉
haha! 😛 #sorrynotsorry
So beautiful! I really like that you didn’t go for the traditional green xmas tree.
i really like this. You did an awesome job. It looks so realistic. Like something that should be in a book.
Very pretty and elegant!
How beautiful! I loooove the snowy grey take on trees – your mani is just great!
I’m a fan of putting up my tree late… but that’s probably more of me being lazy 😉
So wintery looking. Love it xx
PRETTY! I love how it’s an a vague, snowy, blustery scene. Reminds me of nights looking out the window at the snow storm. 🙂
Thanks Katherine! What a wonderful way of looking at it. 🙂
Lovely! These look like a painting!
Thank you Novi! 🙂
I love the background, and the whole mani is just so cute!
Thank you Kellie! 🙂
