Good morning my wonderful readers! I hope you are doing well! Today’s post features OPI The Sky’s My Limit [affiliate link], from the new Ford Mustang collection, with I’m Never So Amberrassed, from the Sheer Tints collection. Let’s take a peek and see how they got on together:
OPI The Sky’s My Limit is a really gorgeous, sparkly, iridescent blue-green. I’ve used 2 coats here with OPI top coat, but looking at the sun shots, I should’ve done 3. The formula did seem a bit thin, to me, but it wasn’t too horribly hard to control (I’m looking at you, L’Oreal polishes!).
I received this tip from my local beauty supply store to add a few coats of OPI I’m Never So Amberrassed [affiliate link] on top of The Sky’s My Limit, and I’m glad I did. I did find I’m Never So Amberrassed to be a bit thick, and a wee bit stringy. If not for use here and perhaps with other shimmery polishes, I would have passed up purchasing this polish. This is 1 coat, no top coat.
I then added one more coat of I’m Never So Amberrassed to deepen the look. I’m really reminded of a mermaid’s tail, or the ocean. It’s just so dang pretty!
What do you think about The Sky’s My Limit, with and without I’m Never So Amberrassed? I’d love to know your thoughts! Later today, I’ll have the “glitter placement” prompt for the OMD2 Nail Art challenge, so until then,
I am loving this. OMG I never would have thought to use the sheer coat. Beautiful blue turns into a gorgeous green. Wow love- #instasassy
#InstaSassy, just add sheer tints! 🙂 Thanks Jamie!
Love the combination! Especially after two coats of I’m Never So Amberrassed!
Thank you Sarah! 🙂
There pretty! I really like the shimmer to them.
Me too! 🙂
I like it most with two coats of I’m Never So Amberrassed. Very pretty combo!
Thank you Leelo! I like it with two coats of INSA as well. 🙂
Ooh, I think I like the green version better. I have those, I should try this. That blue is pretty but needs to be more opaque. Maybe I can try layering it over a baby blue or gray base? Those OPI Tints are a different viscosity and seem to be a bit thick and stringy compared to a regular polish. You can make your own “tint” though by mixing any color with a clear polish. I don’t remember whose blog I learned that from but it was on Bloglovin’.
I think layering The Sky’s the Limit over a blue base would be a good idea, especially if you have one that is a One Coat Wonder. I might have to look up how to make my own tints, thanks for the tip! 🙂
I NEED I’m so Amberrassed. Now. Sick of how O.P.I polishes come to Asia six months after launching elsewhere.
That really stinks!! The Sheer Tints have been out here since March, so hopefully they’ll be heading your way soon!
I love this combination!
SUCH a great idea! I think this is what the sheer tints were originally meant for!
I definitely think so, it totally changes the look of an already great polish. 🙂
