L’Oreal Collection Privée lipstick and nail polish, Part One

purchased myself buttonGood morning all! I hope you are well and having a wonderful day. 🙂 Today I have a different kind of post for you. After I came across swatches of the Collection Privee from L’Oreal of lipsticks & nail polishes, I knew I had to have them all! In this post, I’ll be showing you the lipsticks and corresponding polishes for Frieda’s Nude, JLo’s Nude, and Doutzen’s Nude. Click here for Julianne, Eva, and Liya’s shades. Jump through after the collage for more!

I found the nail polishes to have typical L’Oreal nail polish formula (at least for me): thin! The lipsticks were really nice and covered well with a few swipes, except for Doutzen’s which was fairly sheer.

Freida’s Nude nail polish, 2 coats, no base or top coats. It’s too bad it’s so brush-strokey because I really like the color.

J’Lo’s Nude nail polish, 3 coats, no base or top coats. I hated this in the bottle, but on the nail, it’s quite lovely. Just enough purple to make it interesting.

Doutzen’s Nude lipstick, not my favorite, in the least.

Now, just fyi, my hair is not really brown. It is red. But to get more accurate color for my lips, my hair got the shaft. (hehe) Right at the tips shows the color accurately. Also, I apologize for my second-day curl craziness. Hey, it’s naturally curly hair, what are you gonna do? Also also, major huge props to ladies who do eye of the day or face of the day looks all the time. One, it’s super hard to get a consist “look” on your face for each shot. Two, I am now sick of my face. LOL!

In case you’re interested, here is the makeup I’ve used for this “photo shoot” (har-har).

I’m so sorry for talking your ear off in this post, and I promise tomorrow won’t be as wordy! My must-haves are the JLo’s set, both very wearable on this pale redhead. If you’ve made it this far, bless you! Let me know what you think in the comments. 🙂

  1. That Frida’s Nude lipstick looks prettier on the lips than it does in the tube: it looked like death in the tube! Too grayish and I never understood mauve 🙂 I’m looking for Juliana’s Nude but can’t find it. May I pin your pictures to my neutral makeup and nails board on Pinterest?

  2. Interesting seeing the nail polishes paired with the corresponding lipsticks. I’m not a fan of nudes lip colors on myself but they look wonderful on you.

  3. JLo’s Nude is the set I like. Bummer about the brush-stroke appearance and the sheerness. The former is the thing I hate the most in a polish.
