Hello everyone! I’ve been a little under the weather (ironic because of this week’s challenge) so I didn’t get a chance to post this on Sunday. In case you missed the past two posts, I’m joining others to do theme weeks of nail art, organized by FingerFood. If you’d like to join, here is the facebook group.
So, I first wanted to do thunderstorm nails, after all I just bought lightning bolt nail vinyls from nailvinyls.com. But then other ladies had done it, and really well, so I decided to think outside the box a bit. My husband is an amateur weatherman (in fact, he often knows better than the real weathermen!), so I asked for his help. I tried creating a storm as shown on Doppler Radar for my nails.
I’ve used Wet N Wild A Blank Canvas, Who is Ultra Violet, Under Your Spell, Haze of Love, The Clock Strikes Orange, Poison Ivy, Stand the Test of Lime, Listening to Blue Reed, Teal Slowly and See; Sinful Colors Pull Over. A lot of polishes, I know! I just freehanded each color on with a teeny nail art brush, starting from the white and working my way out. Then I topped it with Glisten & Glow’s HK Girl top coat.
What do you think? I admit that even though if you didn’t know what it was supposed to be, you’d probably not get it, I still really like the cool effect of it.
Let’s take a look at everyone’s manicures for the week!
