OPI Alcatraz Rocks!

purchased myself buttonGood morning everyone! I stayed up too late last night reading and I feel almost hungover this morning. Consequently, if this post is full of errors, and nonsensical-ness, I apologize in advance. πŸ˜‰

Today I have for you a polish that I’ve used before, but never as a full mani: OPI Alcatraz Rocks. This is a great Liquid Sand (texture) nail polish, a blue base with a purple tinge; glittery bits of purple, green, blue, and pink really make this stand out. I’m not the biggest texture polish fan, but this is so pretty, I just love it. I’ve had it on my hand for two days now and I’m still liking it!

I’m so glad that I picked this up when my beauty supply store had the OPI San Francisco collection. Did you pick this one up? Will you now?

If you haven’t noticed yet, I’m kind of in a funk when it comes to nail art, so give me some inspiration suggestions in the comments so I can get back on that horse!

  1. I lurve this polish! It is so unique and beautiful it made me gasp when I first put it on. Actually my first OPI liquid Sand. This is how you do textured polish! and it has sort of spoiled me- I am super picky now and I want my textured polishes all to be this complex! Nail art…hmmm. No great ideas for you, but I really don’t mind if you are just swatching for awhile. There are so many polishes and pretty new collections, I am sure swatching would keep you super busy indefinitely!

    • I agree – this is textured polish done right! I just wish even OPI was more consistent with their texture polishes, because some of them are a hot mess. πŸ˜›

You’re right with swatching – so many pretties! I do miss nail art, but it is a ton of work because i’m such a perfectionist, you know?

  2. i know everyone went nutty over this when it came out, but for me i’m like mehhh… i dunno why i never felt the urge with this one. i did buy a bottle though- for my friend Rachael THE NAIILINATOR for our swap. I was surprised at how purple it looks in the bottle!

  3. I’m probably the only person who likes textured polishes – this one looks so pretty! I’ve bought my first liquid sand (OPI Vesper) and can’t wait to get more!

  4. This is definitely my favorite polish from that collection. It’s just so freaking pretty. I haven’t applied a top coat to it yet, but I will because it looks so amazing that way too.
