OPI Gwen Stefani nail polish collection

purchased myself button2014 favorite button | Be Happy And Buy PolishGood morning everyone! I hope you are having a great Tuesday. I’m hoping for a better day today than yesterday; it was so windy yesterday – I mean it was really howling – and my ears and head hurt soooo bad. šŸ˜¦ I think the wind is supposed to die down, it’s just going to be cold. (Well, it is Montana in January, we can’t have great weather!)

Anyway, onto today’s polishes: the OPI Gwen Stefani collection. I have loved No Doubt & Gwen Stefani for years, and even though I knew there were likely some shades that were “normal”, I knew I had to buy them all. (I’ll have to review the red, Over & Over A-Gwen separately, as my beauty supply store doesn’t have it yet.) There are some definite must-buy polishes here, so let’s get to it!

First, let’s get Push & Shove out of the way. I know so many bloggers are really digging on this chrome/mirror metallic shade, but…I just don’t like it. Nope. It shows every flaw, every mistake, every bump & groove in my nails. I did try to start with a different base coat, then Lay Down That Base, then Push & Shove, but it was a hot, hot mess. This is 2 coats:

Next is Hey Baby, shown is 2 coats with OPI top coat. Great creme, and a nice hot pink. I didn’t really have a good hot pink in my collection (weird, right?), but many of you probably do.

This is I Sing in Color, shown is 2 coats with OPI top coat. I really really like this deep, vampy red creme. It hits the spot for me this winter.

I’ve use In True Stefani Fashion matched up with I Sing in Color. This is 2 coats of ITSF on my ring finger. I like this glitter topcoat, I don’t have anything quite like it in my stash.

Next is 4 In The Morning, shown is 2 coats without topcoat and with OPI top coat. This is a great black, but the shimmer keeps it from being too chalkboard-like, if you know what I mean. This is a must-buy.

Last is Love.Angel.Music.Baby., shown is 2 coats without topcoat, and with OPI top coat. This is a gorgeous satiny gold, I can’t get enough of it. Also a must-buy.

Okay, what are your thoughts on this collection? Do you like Push & Shove or not? What’s your favorite Gwen Stefani or No Doubt song? Of course, I have to leave you with two of my favorites! Until tomorrow, rock out!

  1. Most of the collection doesn’t interest me much, but I may have to get Love. Angel. Music. Baby. even though gold isn’t my thing. It’s just so pretty in everyone’s swatches! šŸ™‚

  2. Too bad about Push and Shove. that chrome mirror finish is really tough to get right. I am liking 4 in the morning. Makes me want to add matte topcoat over my Chanel Cosmic and see if magic happens. Love gwen stafani’s music and style and I hope this is only the first of her OPI collabs. My fave songs are: Gwen Stefani: The Sweet Escape and Hollaback Girl. No Doubt : Just a Girl and Hella Good. When is Gwen going to come out with a line of chic maternity clothes?!? She needs to look into that.

    • A-freakin-men to your comment! haha! Gwen definitely needs to come out with a line of maternity clothes, she has totally rocked all of her pregnancies. šŸ™‚ If she keeps coming out with more OPI polishes, I’ll keep buying them, because I’m a sucker for her. LOL

  3. The only reason I got these are because they are Gwen Stefani polishes and I lurve her. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t have been so desperate to get my hands on them. I think that I managed to get Push & Shove to look decent but without the special basecoat, it was a super nightmare. I remember when her LAMB album came out, I played that shit for months. I love her song “Cool” from that album so much…and love the video too. I pretty much just love all her songs: solo and No Doubt.

    • Yes! The LAMB album was awesome….I’m sure I drove my husband sick with how much I played it. haha! šŸ™‚ Your swatch of Push & Shove looked so good…mine not so much. šŸ˜›
