Good morning everyone! I hope you’re having a great morning, I am having a pretty good day so far. Life is good, it’s warming up outside – just in time for the snow to melt and the roads to get icy at night.
Today I have for you some….slightly strange snowmen. In my opinion, there are two kinds of snowmen: the holiday/traditional ones, and then the Calvin & Hobbes snowmen. (I hope you know who C&H are…if not start here.) Well, I hope you know me well enough by this point to know that I went with Calvin & Hobbes. Man, I loved reading this comic in the paper when I was a kid. 🙂 And the snowmen were some of the best. I found a whole website devoted to them (click here) and that’s where I picked up my ideas.
The great thing about these nails is that they’re actually pretty simple and don’t need a lot of detail. I started with 3 coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for that slightly off-white, newspaper print look. I then used OPI Black Onyx to create the details. I used Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat for some shine.
Lastly, I used essie matte about you to matte-ify them for a more comic look. I love it matte-fied! The only bad part is that using matte top coat will amplify any mistakes in your nail art or in applying the matte top coat.
I have to admit, the little headless guy is my favorite. LOL! I love little snowmen, and I hope you do too, because here are some more:
