May Challenge, Part Four: Recreate Your Favorite

Today I have for you the last May Challenge: Recreate Your Favorite. In case you missed it, here is part one, part two, and part three.

This was hard for me to decide, because all the other ladies had some kick-ass manicures! I narrowed it down to three: Fairly Charming’s Mad Men look, The Bubbly Brunette’s tulips, and The Bubbly Brunette’s starfish/beach look. I settled on Fairly Charming’s Mad Men look, only because when I first saw it, I just loved it so much! Here is the look (posted here with permission):

I actually didn’t have any of the colors she used in her look, so I had to search through my stash. I ended up using Sinful Colors My Buoyfriend, Sinful Colors Nail Art Bad Chick, and Orly Monroe’s Red. In retrospect, I should have used a different red, as Monroe’s Red was a bit too sheer and ended up needing coaxing to look good. I like how my left hand looks, but my right hand – boy I need way more practice making lines free-handed!

For some reason, I loved this on Fairly Charming’s nails, but I didn’t like it as much on my nails. I think part of that had to do with the fact that she has longer, lovely (!) nail beds than I do, and I think it makes a difference sometimes in how nail art looks.

If you haven’t already, click the blue frog to check out all the manicures from the May challenge!

Well I had a lot of fun doing all these May challenges, and I can’t wait until the June & July challenges start!
